Spoke to my Spreadbet / CFD provider just now. He confirmed that there were stops that triggered earlier, which in turn triggered other stops. He said there was a fair amount which caused the hike in volume and the fast spike lower in sp.

If he can "steal" the co for £1, he'd suffer a couple of days of bad press.
He would spin it with lines such as "new economic environment" "Ukraine war" "higher interest rates/inflation" etc.

I'm concerned that we are getting closer to 15 sept and we are not seeing any buyers. In fact, we are seeing big IIs who have been long term supportive shareholders exiting.
The press and analysts are all turning negative, or negative from where they once were.
The only optimists left are the PIs on this BB, who arent exactly impartial.
My concern is that this stock remains uninvestible for many and existing shareholders will eventually lose faith.

It shouldn’t take a year to give up the golden share. A bit of paperwork! Should take an afternoon. MM often makes comments without thinking. He really shouldn’t be running a plc.

IR should be guiding the city as to what to expect on 15 Sept. That’s their job. It shouldn’t cause a shock either way. But they don’t really seem to be doing much in that regard. Or otherwise. I would normally expect the shares to have a run up to the figures. As a complete disaster seems to be priced in. But if Jupiter are still selling, the sp won’t go up till they’ve finished.

I’m assuming/hoping it’s Jupiter getting rid of their last 4%(?). They stopped selling for a few days, allowing the stock to rally to 70p. Let’s hope they’re nearly done. I suppose we won’t go up till they are.

Identical situation. The City hated Mike Ashley. Ignored everything he said about business doing well. At their worst, They couldnt find accountants to audit their results. He had terrible PR, didnt care. Absolute maverick. Kids and gymgoers ignored the greater economy.
Shares got down to 30p. Now 880p

Those that keep saying that this is down because tech stocks are out of favour and nasdaq is down, etc. are in denial.
THG are down 5% every day.
Come 15 Sept. If the numbers are great, THG MAY rally 10%. I fear that the only thing that will save us is a bid.
That wont happen till MM gives up his golden share. MM may take private, but I dont see why he would. Im not sure that he ever intended to. I think the GQ comment was just something he said on the spur of the moment and it gathered momentum.
