RE: “Patience is a Virtue”11 Jan 2019 22:58
Well said Samroy, and added Bays.
I was once called the most patient member of my profession by my colleagues. A surprise to me as I was always of the same temperament. Through coolness under pressure I was given tasks that others were deemed too reactive for and, though I bang my own drum, achieved good results. One situation where I saved the bacon of many, supposedly experienced colleagues - including one trainer, is now, I was recently told used as a training scenario for those now joining the profession.
That was then.
Now it's completely the reverse and calmness is only achieved through medication.
A few days ago I wrote a post on here advocating patience, ending with softly, softly, catchee monkey.
Yesterday, after a few days without my tablets, I would have happily strangled any shorter or MM had they strayed into my path as the sp was again knocked back from the expected 20p.
Patience and calmness are fantastic virtues but the flip side is a latent build up of stress, which, if not relieved can cause serious problems later. Mine ended in a blackout at work and I've never been the same since.
So be calm and be patient but also make damn sure that you have an outlet when things wind you up - though I cannot advocate strangling a shorter as being suitable stress relief, however much we'd like to.
Sorry about spouting off on here but I'd like us all to be here for the endgame when it comes.
