I think its worth noting Neil Woodford hasn't sold any shares here. His fund is still £3.5Billion so the value of his stake here is negligible and about 80% in the red. He would be much better selling down his much larger value stake in Barratt Developments which is doing rather well today and he is likely showing a profit on.

I think they will block the Straits or at least render tankers passing through un-insurable, they have said as much. But I think the $325 a barrel quoted probably needs to be divided by 3

Thanks for your lengthy and detailed reply. I remember having a discussion with someone on the other forum re Euroclear showing availability to borrow, I didn't buy it then and I don't buy it now. ( if that was the case then a heavily shorted stock would show reduced availability to borrow stock ) I am aware of Convertible Bond Arbitrage but what I was eluding to was a straight buy PMO bonds and short PMO equity trade. As there is no divi the bonds or a long CFD like Goldman have seems preferable to the insitis. Just my thoughts.

Do you or anyone else know why the stock on loan is so high. I don't think its a straight forward bet against PMO. The Enquest number is about 3% I think they might be long the bonds short the equity as a Hedge. If so an increase means they have bought more bonds !
