Bielsa - I agree with the idea criminals should be dealt with properly.

I have always liked the idea of 3-5 strikes and you’re doing a long stretch.

In most cases crime is a small number of people repeat offending, responsible for hundreds of crimes in one area.

Our system should put people like this into a different system, where police have more control and in some cases a reduced level of proof.

As for HRA in most it’s a good thing, anything which provides a mechanism for prosecuting powerful and uncaring organisations has to be a good thing.

I always think there will be examples of extremes we don’t understand, I would rather see them on over protection (and then be challenged) rather than in the other direction where you won’t get a chance to challenge or stop it

I have same attitude towards H&S, where it goes too far it’s a pain, but who ever is behind it is trying to keep you safe, the opposite extreme isn’t somewhere I’d want to go

My argument is immigration can be controlled and managed in a grown up, decent way, based on the facts of what this country needs, or does not need.

The facts are people like you who feel so strongly about the subject have not been listened to. You will blame Labour, they did invite Eastern Europeans in to support a health economy.

But you need to look at recent Conservative governments who created policy’s not to solve immigration but to move away from facts, increase immigration from Asia etc and encourage risky channel crossings because they removed all alternatives, weaponise immigration for votes leaving behind a confused and angry segment of the population. Even not processing asylum applications to make the problem worse

I’m not going to froth at the mouth over immigration, it can be dealt with in a proper manner like it always was.

If you look at the states for instance, Biden and every other president before him had administrations which deported more illegal immigrants than Trump did and will, without any fuss and a normal function of government.

Everything else is smoke and mirrors an invitation for our enemies to press pressure points. The Kremlin for instance didn’t start recent campaigns and division but they sure as heck amplify them & fund them.

The UK is heading towards a bad place, much worse than it is now, an unhealthy investing environment will follow. Terraplane is right about the Russians. For every post people read on line, 90% of the responses are Russian trolls, trying to sow division and mischief. It’s how Russians set direction of travel in Russia, we know that & they are doing the same, with farms full of trained people & psychologists who know which buttons to press.

Immigration is a big one. We know russia uses immigration, they were caught red handed busing immigrants into Hungary to cross borders to in Europe to create pressure points they could then exploit as naive people think they are responding to John smith or Warwick rather than Ivan in st Petersburg, confirming all their little biases.

I am familiar with the case. I’m afraid actions speak louder than words. Her actions and that tweet (along with others) are not the actions of caring soul. They just aren’t.

Your son or daughter or mother or friend could have been in that hotel, working or otherwise.

I personally would lock her up for longer. It’s a disgrace & there should be no place for it in a civilised society.

Let’s start with 99% of actual climate scientists. You will never see scientific agreement like this for any other subject. Rates of change in temperature have never been seen before. (Ice & core earth samples show this). 9 of the hottest years recorded for planet and oceans in last 10 years.

Anything else is a lie. I’m happy to see any investment company encourage less use of fossil fuels & or any other contaminants, less plastic etc etc. makes perfect sense to me
