Contrarian.......are you on the board of directors with CNA? Sounds like it by your comments......lets feck the workers and continue to line our own pockets with gold as that feckwitt Conn has being doing the past few years. You say earlier that this Company is not run for the workers but for the investors.......well as a past investor they have done a pretty crap job of that and from what I see continue to do so. Lets sell off all the money making assets so we can line the director’s pockets more......feck the poor private investor.
If you want a well run company that despite these hard times is still paying a good dividend I suggest you move your money into BP and reap the benefits there.

I consider 880p too cheap. I think another bidder is sitting in the wings and will emerge very soon.

I am wondering with that sudden jump if there is a counter bid in the offing? Whatever 880p is far too cheap for this company and it will go for more than that.

Contrarian......you really come across as a bit of an arrogant feckwitt........the problem with CNA is not the engineers but just plain bad management over the past few years. I hope you never find yourself in a situation where your employer wants to reduce your pay and conditions.
CNA has proven to be a dog over the past 3 years to most long term holders and to be honest I cannot see anything that they are doing right now that will change my view. The last trading update was one of the worst I have read in my share investing life.....if you actually read between the lines you will realise what they were trying to say. I will never for the life of me understand why they are selling off all the crown jewels as to me that was the bread and butter of the company.

The Marc.......I sold at 43.5 and certainly have no regrets as my money has raced on since that in other re investments. A company full of industrial un rest and selling off all its valuable oil assets at a time oil is on the way to a recovery was enough of a red flag for me.
That said we all have our own differing investment goals so I wish you luck with your investments here.

Talkingsense........Haha, to hell with that, I would rather sail into New York as the sun comes up rather than Southampton. I was due to go May 2020, rebooked for May 2021 which is now cancelled so rebooked for May 2022.

Dalesflyer..........sure did but that loss has just about been recovered now after moving into travel shares.....selling at such a loss here was not easy but it has turned out to be the right decision. Too many great bargains out there all making a rapid recovery whilst CNA continues to drag her heels. Look back 6 months and CNA up 18%. Compare with SAGA that has risen 85%.
Sometimes it pays benefits to cut your losses and run.

TS.....sadly only 125% of the original purchase. Good try though.......I am on my 3rd attempt with Cunard to take QM2 to NYC.......now May 2022 hopefully :-)

Paddyboy......I have to agree regarding safe haven.....I use it as a sort of bank for my trading money, when I see a bargain elsewhere I sell £10K of BP, buy the bargain and then sell when I see a quick 10% then bank it back into BP. I always said BP was a stonking baragin below £3 till it dropped to £2 !!! Then it was the bargain of the century and kept buying from there back to £3.
Happy to hold the majority for the long term as even with the reduced divi it is a pretty good earner long term.

No matter what good news the budget may bring us this is a great long term hold from these levels. I have been adding quite a few Covid generated bargain shares to my portfolio over the last 3 months and I see Costain as one of them.

Looking forward to hearing some good news in todays budget regarding extension of the stamp duty holiday. Whatever happens RDW is still well below where we should be. Business is doing great a recent broker recommendations pit this in the £7 bracket.

Kums.........sadly I doubt that. Longer term maybe but there is a lot of water to flow under the bridge before then. I see NATS the provider of en route ATC services in the UK are not expecting normal air traffic levels to be resumed before 2025, sadly it is going to be a slow process to recovery. I am buying travel stocks left right and centre but will stick them all away in the bottom draw and come back in 2023 to see how I have done.

Robertgleed........the answer is simple.......nothing goes up in a straight line....all travel stocks have had a pretty good run the past couple of weeks so taking a breather and a small fall is good in my opinion. Folk will always take profit and these falls allow new punters to get aboard. I would not be surprised to see it slip further yet before bouncing back higher.

It appears to be starting the next leg up now. £20 should soon be hit. Copper is going to fly in 2021.

I bought a few this morning through my Halifax account. Although the shares are showing at a buy price of 24.3p they do not show as any value and appear unable to sell. Anyone else seeing this?

Hopefully see a nice bounce later today as USA has a wee rally after a crap day yesterday. With copper expected to reach $9600 in 2021 the only way is up I feel. I expect new price records here during 2021.
