Remember it is only money and no one should be investing cash that they cannot afford to lose. I lost 180K last year when I sold out of CNA at a huge loss......not easy to swallow at the time but I saw better opportunities and decided what I had left would make faster gains elsewhere.
I have held NCYT too but I was lucky as I bought at £2 then sold my original investment at £4 leaving me with a shed load of free shares......in retrospect I should have sold these off at £12 as that was my target but decided to get greedy.....not a good thing! Decided to flog a few off yesterday at 425 and reinvest in MHC as I decided if UK.GOV nit buying these they must be buying somewhere.
There must be lots of folk pretty down in the dumps today whose dreams of a new life through NCYT have been shattered.....all I can say is despite all the crap you will all survive. Take a deep breath and move on......at some stage the worm will turn and I am sure in a few months you may all be smiling again.

Chester......150 plus .on what grounds? You need to remember that CNA not the cash rich beast it used to be paying a 12% divi not that long ago. After selling off all of the oil assets it really is down to the new management finding new ways of re building the company. At the moment I continue to ride the present trend, as they say let the trend be your friend but I guess at some stage the trend will reverse if no positive news comes from the company.

Only another 1p to go and I am back in profit :-) This is one of those shares I had stuck away in a bottom draw expecting to see back in profit in a few years if lucky!!.........maybe at this rate I will not have to wait that long ?

Tep.........to be fair I still hold £10K but the rest was moved into SAGA, CCL and SGC in November that have both exceeded any gains made here so I am happy with that. Sometimes it is worth selling at a loss if a better opportunity exists which at the time I saw in travel stocks.
I am still here as I hold a small £10k holding which is peanuts to the £250K I have held in the past. I still favour BP over CNA as still a great recovery stock at £3 and paying a reasonable divi still. Good luck with your holdings.

Pretty rock solid results with all things considered. Insurance will keep this baby afloat till the fleet starts to sail......then it is up, up and away.

As. most of the oil and gas sector motoring on again today, most up 5% we once again see CNA dragging her heels. This can really be one dog of a share at times.

I first bought into SYME back in late 2020 as I like the sound of the business. As time went on my 0.2p purchase price started to look not a bad move......there have been a couple of times that I could have taken a nice 200% profit but I didn’t.......why you may ask, well to be honest I always thought I would not even contemplate selling till we saw a 1000% profit. After todays RNS I am still of the same opinion......nothing has changed, as they say Rome was not built in a day. Do not fret......one day this will come good, it is only a question of time. Stop looking at the price every day, it will not help.

Arthurdaley.......probably not but what I do know is keeping my money in here is like sticking it under the mattress as far as making it grow is concerned. The markets flying everywhere but good old CNA still drags its feet as it tries to sell off the silverware whilst trying its best to shaft its staff. As for a divi, if you are really keen on seeing the company survive well I suggest then the last thing you want to see is a divi restored. CNA are in the mess that they are in right now because they maintained a very good divi in previous years when they could not really afford it. If they had stopped the divi and propped up the pension fund sooner we would not find ourselves in the mess we are in today.

Black Creek seem very confident buying 4% of the value. Rightly so I guess. Will be an interesting few weeks with brokers suggesting 475 and that not taking into account any potential bid that is being muted around.

I cannot see CNA paying a divi anytime soon and rightly so. Any cash from Direct Energy will be needed to keep CNA head above water.
If you are really looking for a rock solid company already paying a respectable divi and with a potential 50% upside then look no further than BP.

I managed a nice £10K top up yesterday at 1600p, sadly I missed the low of 1580p but I still considered it a bargain. Already 5% up on that today. Once this starts moving back north I feel 2000p will soon be in sight. The final divi is nice too at just under 50 cents going ex div near the end of April .

Nice to be on a BB were there is no mud slinging at fellow investors. Looks like just Trojan and myself following this right now. Where is everyone?

I feel the next leg up will nit be far away. 2021 will be the year of copper.
