Just looked at my portfolio to realise I have £30K of CERP shares at an average price of 19p. Looking back on the historical price they have never been above 5p. I can only assume it was an investment that I made a few years back when CERP were named LGO. Can anyone remember the price LGO rose to.....I guess at the time I thought it was a good investment but it seems I have stuck away in the top draw after being over 90% down. Maybe this is the start of clawing some money back. Would be nice to see this back at 19p. Maybe sooner than later with this great news.

Nice to see this making steady progress. I mentioned builders suppliers last week as I think they may take off as demand ramps up on return to work. Based on that I invested in TPK Travis Perkins, looks like I made an OK move. Good luck all and stay safe.

Result......as my BT phone and internet deal coming to an end I decided to call their retention department today to say I was considering moving provider if they could not do another deal.
My call was answered immediately by a lass in Doncaster. She told me I was only the 2nd call of the day and she was “home working” Anyway, being nice as always I chatted away with her to get on to her good books, she told me her life story! To cut a long story short I have ended up with superfast broadband, free calls to all numbers including mobiles and a new superfast hub all for £28.99 month for the next 24 months. Lockdown rocks.

Andy882, you only need to be holding at close of market the day before ex div date to bet the dividend. You can sell at 0800 on ex div day and you will get the dividend paid. The record date has no relevance to getting the divi.

Asian markets getting a hammering today, down 5%, oil down too. Looks like we may end the day below 300p. I thought I was being smart selling out at 339p earlier last week, not so smart when I bought back again at 320p. I am going to sit back now and see where we are after ex div day. I think 280 may yet be on the cards, if so it will be top up time. Stay safe folks.

Toff is a serial poster of doom and gloom, not only here but on other pages too, he was just the same on the CNA forum. Not only that but when you try to put your views forward he becomes quite arrogant and aggressive. It is hard to understand what his game is as he is not invested in any of these share but just tries his best to destroy the price by negative views. He also operates under another name too just so he can bet around posting every time he is sin binned for 7 days which happens quite often.
He has been sussed out by many....quite a sad little person really but hey ho such is life.
Good luck one and all, I reckon BT is a good bet linger term but I have to admit to selling my holding last week at a small profit after RDSB decided to cut their divi so I thought the same may happen here. I will await the divi decision this week before getting back aboard.

Despite lots of red around the last couple of days the builders have held up well. With a slow return to work I think we will continue to see a slow rise here too. I am told builders merchants are going to be overrun with demand for products as the return to work starts, based on that I am buying into Travis Perkins TPK. Johnson......I managed to buy at 294 a few weeks ago, I sold first thing yesterday morning at 338 as I thought that was a decent profit In a short span of time......I often make the mistake of waiting for more and in the end lose out as the share price drops. Yesterday I timed it well, my only downfall was buying back in later in the day at 312!! I knew I should have waited to see what today would bring but I never feel comfy being out of this too long! I have been waiting to get back aboard here and was hoping to see 130 again before I did. Looks like she is holding up well today with all the other shares well in the red so I have taken the plunge.
I have also bought TPK Travis Perkins, as a builder friend tells me once all sites open again there will be a mad dash in to buy materials as at the moment the shelves are bare as all stick has been used up.
TW was very good to me in the 5p days, only sad I sold before she reached 250p Good luck one and all and stay safe.

One of my best sailing pals is a small property developer and builder in Lincolnshire. He says once the building sites re open (next week) there will be a real rush on to buy materials as at the moment all stock of anything has been used up.
TPK are one of the companies that will benefit from this mad dash, based on that I have taken a small punt here as I feel building will soon be back on track as things ramp up.

It was only last week he was casting his doom on the CNA board when at 30p he suggested 20p was around the corner or worse they would go bust.....needless to say the share price rose over 30% and hit 41p yesterday.

Emmjane......could I suggest you take a look at TPK Travis Perkins. They are a builders merchants, I have it on good authority that these merchants are going to be run off their feet soon ince the building sites return to full production. I have been buying a few over the past 2 weeks and see it as a good longer term hold. In the meantime I am happy trading BP, IAG, TW, and RDSB now starting to look cheap too.

Emmjane....welcome aboard, I sold my BT holding this morning for a small profit as I feel if the dividend is pulled this could affect the share price badly....I guess I was spooked by RDSB slashing their divi today, the first time since the war!!
There are so many great bargains out there though at the moment but as the market so volatile right now I have chosen to trade in and out of a few once I see a 10% profit, and that can happen pretty quickly.
BP to me is a no brainer, I have bought and sold 4 times over the past few weeks and made over 30% in doing so. Sold this morning at 339 and waiting to get back in.
And oh, by the way, you will see Toff on a few different chat boards, he is very negative on anything and is quite happy giving folk grief that disagree with his arrogant attitude, he has just been banned for 7 days for posting his rubbish..... that said, you must make up your own mind what and whom you listen to at the end of the day. I dumped my BP and IAG at a nice quick 10% profit to buy in here. Panic selling first thing here but expect it to creep back towards 1400 by the end of the day.......look on the bright side, the divi has only been cut and not cancelled unlike most other companies have. Good luck and stay safe.
