I don't get it. It doesn't sound as if this has been properly thought through.
"Tiger Royalties and Investments Plc (AIM: TIR), an investment vehicle focused on incubating technology and mining projects, is pleased to announce its £250,000 investment in Standard Strategies (CSE - SBTC), a publicly traded Canadian company that is pioneering a portfolio approach to investing in Bitcoin (BTC) treasury companies. Tiger is subscribing for 20,374,449 in Standard Strategies, which will represent a holding of 26.39%."
If £250K is going to get TIR 26.39% of the enlarged post-placing company than that means that the m/cap of Standard Strategies post-placing is only just over £1M - which is much smaller than Tiger which has a m/cap of about £4.5M. Why don't TIR just set up their own Bitcoin Treasury Reserve Strategy.
Also I have found the Standard Strategy RNS - link below - and it say:
"Proceeds from the Offering will enable the Company to accelerate further development on the Company's technology platform to provide cloud-native, AI-powered enterprise analytics software to spur innovation in Bitcoin treasury management applications. As the Company would like to pursue and complete this development work as quickly as possible, and as the Company faces serious financial difficulties, the Company – with the support of all of its independent directors - will not be seeking prior shareholder approval with respect to Tiger's subscription in reliance on the exception set out under CSE Policy 4, Section 4.6(2)(b). This will enable the Company to close the Offering on a much more expeditious basis, better positioning it to respond to an ever changing Bitcoin and blockchain environment."
Who in their right minds invests in a company that admits they are "facing serious financial difficulties".
This sounds a poor investment, especially considering that a number of UK companies have already adopted the Bitcoin Treasury Reserve Strategy in the last month or so with overwhelming success.
