Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Well, first reading of the Interims looks pretty encouraging to me. Lots of positives;
"Strong revenue traction from a diverse range of customers across all aspects of Abingdon's fully integrated CDMO solution,. . ."
"Revenue of £1.1m for the six months to December 2022 (H1 2022: £1.7m) expected to be significantly improved in H2 2023 and FY 2023 revenues are expected to be materially higher than FY 2022 revenues of £2.8m."
"Reduction in adjusted1 EBITDA loss of £2.2m in the period (H1 2022: adjusted2 EBITDA loss of £4.8m) predominantly driven by cost-savings, mainly due to a reduction in headcount."
. . . and more . . . IMO it looks like we have turned a corner. I am showing a hefty paper loss at the moment but I feel more confident today that I am going to turn that around too. Perhaps not imminently . . . but . . .
BITL, take a break by all means but don't close the door. I echo others, not withstanding you can be a bit of a grumpy b&gger, you are a valued, knowledgeable poster.
FWIW . . . try what I do. I write very many more posts than I post. I vent my spleen at the effwits like its going out of style, then instead of hitting 'send', I delete it. Well, I mostly delete it . . . some sneak through . . .
Whatever you decide, good luck.
"you don't accept what someone else says" . . . even more so cj62 . . .
08.03hrs today the Bore posts its regular opening bell FUD attack. Within two minutes I and another poster point out it is talking drivel.
Those two posts are now gone and the original FUD attack remains. Go figure.
although, I do not expect anyone to care too much what I think . . . but FWIW,
I would certainly not support a low ball offer. Why would I? I am able to see the bigger picture. I am in for the long haul, as I believe that is where true value will finally come out. That has not changed and neither has my opinion as to the potential value of Avacta. A low ball offer would be a cynical insult and I dont ever let cynics insult me just to get their way. My belief is too strong and my nads are too big.
I would absolutely not support a no confidence vote (or any other childish gesture) in the CEO. Not only because IMO he has done a good job in the three years I have been invested but also because the people on this BB having a pop at him are basing their criticism almost soley on their own personal frustration at the SP. I have yet to read a post by anyone, containing credible, verifiable evidence of AS not operating competently on a day to day basis as a CEO . . . how could they? It is just unqualified, personal opinion, skewed by self-interest.
People might say, what about comms? Well fine, perhaps we could have had a bit more information recently, I would welcome that. But I am not about to start ****ging off my own investment because I cant have it. Personally, I do not want a CEO who schmoozes the punters. (Anyone else witness Gerry Brandons antics at Deepverge? . . . Chatting with posters on LSE and Twitter . . . utterly unprofessional and needy beyond belief.) Comms could be better . . . but they are not . . . so what, it is not a reason to start calling for the CEOs head. Jesus, write to him if you have to but bleating like wet nappy wearing, selfish effer on here does nothing other than expose your fragility.
And frankly, I would not be surprised if AS does not feel like pandering to LSE posters who question (with no evidence) his integrity and competence. On a personal level, he has the right to disregard such criticism and on a professional level he has plenty of other things to occupy his time.
Finally, I prefer to think that he and his management team are pretty busy, not only running a groundbreaking clinical trial but hopefully handling a couple or three serious approaches from potential partners and/or BO suitors. That might explain a bit of a hiatus on the comms front, on account of its more important and valublae than chucking bread and games at the mob.
GLA all the sensible LTHs.
Just catching up on the BB tonight . . . excellent find there Rippers, thanks for sharing.
As I read the article I could actually visualise the Avacta "prep yourself for plucking" playbook being followed, . . . the one they obviously talk about in the board room, while swapping stories about PIs on LSE and munching on Whaler take aways, . . . on dress down Fridays . . . shumpers out, Tees and tats in.
Best of all, as you say, it obliterates the FUDster playbook . . . Wynbores crucial "profit margin per dose" question which had us all so hovering over the sell button for months, has just been blown out of the water. Dereks "divi" has just disappeared up his Woolyback chocolate starfish and the rest of the motley collection of gormless 50p-a-pop eejits are going to have to re-org at Effwit HQ in the morning, for a briefing on their next FUDding Op. Hopefully it will be HARL . . . ha!
Seriously though . . . it has always, only, been about the bigger picture.
Last one from me today . . . I prefer not to engage directly with disruptive sealions who are on my 'ridicule only' list.
Is this what you mean by 'sarcasm'?

Just for the record this was Wyns post on Hemo earlier today -
"Without boring you all, and obviouly do what you like but I fell out with the AVCt BB as I predicted that the company (that in Covid was developing a LFT) was, due to delays, going to miss the boat and further, the delays suggested there were problems going on behind the scenes. That particular BB is a very offensively rude, vindictive bunch and that contrary opinion sent a few of them over the edge. (Their emotions got the better of them). It turned out I was right and they have never forgiven me.
(They also seem to think my views alter the SP of any company I talk about, which shows I think, quite how demented they are.)"
. . . what? Demented by your sarcasm or your spiteful antagonism . . . ?
You're welcome Wyndrum. BTW your posts just over the last two days;
Monday 20 Mar 23 by early afternoon, 11 posts, about 1400 words.
Sunday 19 Mar 23 (markets closed, btw) 7 posts, about 1200 words.
Then there was the very bizarre ‘shouting at us from the Alps’ whilst apparently on holiday . . . just beggars belief.
This is not normal behaviour.
Seriously, go to see your GP. Take your laptop/tablet with you. Show him/her your posting history. Allow him/her a week or two to read it. Accept the referral for psychiatric assessment which you will inevitably be offered.
At least that will be a start. And . . . I am being serious.
Wyndrum, you have spent the last three years telling anyone who has read this BB that you are not interested in the company, just the SP. "I am only interested in the SP". “I am a trader” blah, blah, blah.
Now, it seems, you are an "investor" (with LTH positions in HARL, HE1 and AVCT?) who is apparently taking on the mantle of some kind of investment guru, able to explain the intricacies and nuances of science and business to all the not-so-bright little people who, it would appear, want and need your wisdom. And what's more, you are in a position to question the methodology, business acumen and integrity of the CEO of the company, whilst, incongruously, many posters and readers on this BB recognise you as the same old manipulative FUDster we all know and ridicule.
You are not that investor, nor that guru. Anyone with half a brain between their ears, will read your posts and realise you are an uninformed, unresearched, intellectual lightweight who often misunderstands the very words you write and who could not formulate a cogent explanation of how to put your hat on, never mind the protocols, methodology and implications of a scientific trial, or the running of a listed company. And you are absolutely not in a position call anyone’s integrity into question. Least of all the Avacta CEO who is as renowned as a respected scientist in his field, as you are as a spiteful, disruptive, manipulator, in yours.
You are an out and out charlatan. And what is actually quite amusing, is that your many idiocies and inconsistencies could be explained to you a hundred times and you still would not get it; your multiple personality disorders render you unable to be self-aware.
You are dismissed as a clueless bore with zero credibility for very good reason. But you have zero self-awareness, so will never reflect on any criticism that comes your way and will simply feign victim-hood. You are a blight on this BB but strangely, serve the purpose of raising a few wistful smiles . . . while raising many more hackles.
Thing is Timster, it is all impossible to prove or disprove. Which is why they get away with it.
I have posted in the past (queue conspiracy theorist accusations) that some avatars clearly change writing styles, which suggests different people posting under the same ID . . . sounds odd? And some IDs seem to change their pos/neg stance . . . sounds odd? Well if you ran a boiler room would you not do the same?
Then different avatars have the same obsessions and even terminology; i.e. obsessive hatred of Ophidian, MM, RAH, presumably out of jealousy. Or phrases like "snapping round my ankles" or, referring to others as morons (an NDN and BV favourite) and so forth.
They do what they do, the way they do it because it is all unprovable and they can get away with it . . . unless you have half a brain between your ears and you can spot their transparent nonsense a mile away.
What the hell, . . . its all part of the BB dynamic. They think they are getting away with it, the half-sensible people have got their cards marked.
Anyway, . . . RNS tomorrow anyone? Come on Sujood, pull your finger out.
"BV I used to think you were alright, whereas others said you were a muddy fudster!"
Well TBH, I have never thought he was alright. I think he is a weird narcissist, at best. I thought he was pretty peculiar and irritatingly tedious when he was posting as Mr Adventurous. Prior to that, when he was posting as NDN, he was without doubt the weirdest, most offensive, up himself effwit that ever graced this BB. Pretty much the same goes for his various other IDs on various platforms . . . tedious, childish, old hat and sociopathic.
On this BB he now flits between pseudo science and contrived FUD in his ongoing attention seeking quest.
Apart from that, he is a diamond geezer.
Well . . .
Good link there Muck, worth a watch.
For me (only IMO), after investing in several AIM dogs over the years, I have the feeling that ABDX are just getting their heads down and working away on developing products and IP that will give a steady return in the long run. This, obviously, takes time but that is what the bigger picture view is all about.
I know next to nothing about Bio Tech/Pharma but what I think I know, is that you don't spend millions on R & D for products to sell on the local market, you aim for the global market. Anyone in the UK who has ever bought/used a medication, test etc made in India or China, should know this. Also, I understand that one of the things the UK is particularly good at is Bio Tech.
My simple assessment is, ABDX make LFT's, they also make them for other companies and they are developing Apps (with IP) to read those LFT's in order to turn the 'test process' into easily readable information to aid diagnostics . . . and make life easier for medics to do their job . . . quicker and cheaper . . . from Twickenham to Timbuktu.
I don't see ABDX as an overnight sensation . . . but one day it might be . . .
