I think earache presents a view that has to be considered. The fact that it's not all optimistic is not the issue. The fact that his pessimistic analysis cannot be easily refuted is. Which is what irritates me. Because there is an optimistic take on this. But he only focuses on the risk.
Everything carries risk. Nothing would happen in life if all we ever did was see the potential downside and never see the potential upside. This is business. There are always potential downsides as well as the other side of the respective coin, the potential upside. This is especially true of AIM investments. My response to earache is slightly biased because I am underwater to the tune of a great deal of money and I need this to rise. This doesn't mean that my mind is closed to the risks. But I need to see their explanation balanced by the concomitant upside. Earache seems incapable of doing this. We, as it happens, are in similar positions as regards our dependence upon this investment. Which is why I find his constant pessimism worrying. And there will be others who feel the same way. His perspective is put across authoritatively and eloquently. So it carries authority, and will be encouraging people to sell. I have no doubt about this. It's making me think. Is this good? For me of for him, or for anyone? No. There is a positive perspective here and it's not being voiced in an authoritative way, merely by way of hype.
