RE: DEVICE AUTHORITY powering ahead !13 Aug 2019 13:01
The BoD have no duty to tell anyone price sensitive, behind-the-doors state of the company info at any time, regardless of the fact that they might own a lot of shares. JM is simply a shareholder like me or you. Another share I owned once had a single shareholder who owned a considerably higher percentage than JM, and he too was treated, quite rightly, as any other shareholder. Price sensitive information is confiential to all but board members. But you know this. Or I hope you do. Surely you must. You're an ...um... expert, right?
If you're a successful trader, then so be it. I'm not good at that. I tried and I lost money. Some people can do it and some can't. Stats that I've seen suggest the vast majority of AIM traders lose money in the long term. I like many others, simply do a lot of in depth research, select a company that I believe, given the evidence, will do well, and buy shares with the intention of selling once the company has grown. The stats that I've seen suggest far fewer people lose money this way.
Trading successfully is, I suppose, a nice skill if you have it. But of course most traders spout such BS all the time in their attempts to influence the price that their claims to success have to be taken with a huge pinch of salt anyway. These attempts are almost invariably futile, whether they be to ramp or in the case of shorters, deramp. This is evidenced by the fact that so much good news, published in authoritative sources, is posted on the boards and yet the share price does not move upwards. The same applies inversely to deramping distortions or lies.
Using the boards as a tool to try an influence price is a waste of time. They're meant to be places where shares can be discussed. Instead they've been hijacked by childish people with over large egos who treat the whole thing as a game. There are no boards for UK shares that I take seriously any more. The Australian site Hot Copper, which has boards discussing some Australian holdings I have, is completely different. No childish name calling and silliness (lol, yaboo, nanananaa etc). Just grown ups talking. The LSE board is better than ADv but it seems that's even going downhill now, with the advent of you and your fellow gang member. It's a british thing perhaps. Same sort of mentality as the yobs fighting in European holiday resorts. They're invariably british too.
