The tender offer and post consolidation will probably and materially change our valuation. That's why. Probably no need then to buy back, it adds nothing to shareholders.

The US said repayment to Cairn was important for DFI from them. India has a lot to gain in the coming years and will hopefully put all this behind them. I don't believe we're morally correct but legally so.

Not actually that long in trading terms, which is the date the Indian government have given to settle all claims. Perhaps the money is in the bank but the announcement will be as one? Maximum effect in PR terms.

Anyone got a response from IR about deadline? I've just emailed but might call, mainly to understand if they now consider payment as late.

Agree, it has been a messy process, but then the whole saga has been from the start.

Hopefully the board have added penalties for late payment and a date by which they will withdraw settlement.
