I’m not a shareholder currently. However I would make one observation. If this was a small AIM share the Board and CEO would be dancing around and huge under pressure from the regulator to make some statements about why the share price is dissolving in front of our very eyes. Yet this share just seems to sink quietly day after day and nothing is said!!! I’m beginning to ask myself if there is any equity value left at all under that vast mountain of debt? Or indeed is there anyone manning the Vodafone wheelhouse? Hello in there!

Agreed, so let’s hope it is NOT an internal appointment to replace the outgoing CEO!!! That would be a disappointing and self serving appointment from the Norwich sandwich eaters. They need a strategic change of direction not more of the same. There must be great candidates out there at the Pru and other Int’l organisations who can take this organisation to a higher level. Surely? (FWIW why the dickens did the Board allow the CEO to join the Blackrock board?).

I’m no fortune teller just a LTH of Aviva shares and I felt that after 6 years it was about time that the CEO became accountable for the reduction in my wealth as he continued to become so rich he could buy New Zealand (never mind retire there!). This company has unbelievable brand recognition but they don’t use it to its full effect. They need to get much more aggressive using digital marketing and close down some side show countries and focus on high growth markets and appealing to a new generation of clients. Their Corp structure is archaic and confusing that needs sorting and perhaps, just perhaps there is more value in breaking up and selling the various pieces of the business. I’m sure mega PE guys like Blackstone, KKR, Apollo etc have this baby on their Breakfast meeting agendas this morning!!!

This is still a “world class” financial services organisation and frankly it is a business where they should already have had a world Class successor lined up to announce with the departure of Mr Wilson. Announcing a “Chairman’s Committee” and “internal and external candidates to be considered “ smacks of a lack of preparation and lack of professionalism at Board level. Not what one would expect from a leading advocate of Corparate Governance etc etc.

I suppose the very long list of Investment Banks supporting this IPO will keep the sp relatively “stable” for a period of time. I’d love to own and drive one of their cars but not their shares. Range Rover just announced shutting production for two weeks every month due to lack of demand. Car sales for September down 20%.....facing a no deal brexit, rising oil prices and US interest rates.
Got to hand it to those banks for getting this sold into the public markets at all never mind at a good price!!! Well done to them.

Fingers crossed we can get the permitting sorted and access to the rig etc soon so we can get on with drilling both the Colter and Wick Wells. Holders are exposed to significant NPV here about 2-3p per share on 8% of Colter appraisal well result plus anything from zero up to 10p per share at the 250 mmboe P50 oil in place case for 15% of a successful Wick drill.

Hard to disagree. The Board have been around a while and should start asking some serious questions of the management rather than asking what’s in the sandwiches!
Tried buying shares back rather than increasing the dividend (big mistake imo).
Acquired a smaller life company (now what?)
Sponsor Norwich City FC and loads of other sport stuff. (Why?)
Perpetual share fiasco (who advised on that?)
I could be cruel and say “asleep at the wheel”. But I won’t.

My “assessment” as you call it is based on reality. I have no position in this share and I never will have. IMO a valuation of this company materially above 11X ebitda is a triumph of hope over reality. But that phenomenon applies to many so called “wonder shares”. But these types of companies tend to have ground breaking or life changing technologies. I just happen to take for granted receiving or sometimes going out to buy my food every week. Perhaps my mother was correct and there’s more to this food shopping lark than mankind thinks......:))

So we get our beans a few minutes quicker. So what? Their valuation implies they have found a cure for cancer. They haven’t. They allow themselves and their “partners” to deliver the beans a little quicker. That’s it, nothing else.
Supermarket margins are still razor thin and their technology won’t change that! But hey if it works to give trucks and delivering beans a “technology” valuation then carry on....

After watching an Ocado truck driving along the road yesterday filled with a few tins of baked beans etc I couldn’t help thinking here is a business well worth a valuation of over 70 x ebitda :)) Goodness me and I thought retailers were struggling in the current economic climate. I can’t even begin to value this share. There must be a lot more to selling baked beans here and abroad than I thought!

Now the debt holders must be delighted to see the equity holders receiving a much higher coupon :) as the sp continues to erode surely the new CEO must look to sell a chunk of the business to reduce the debt level materially?

Seems to be a forgotten share. Looks like the mgt are doing what they are supposed to and deliver a decent and more importantly a sustainable yield! They appear to be operating in the right place of the U.K. healthcare sector.

I’m sure this sp & company would benefit from being broken up and sold. I can’t see any logic or synergy from having hospitals in different countries and continents. They must replicate overhead costs everywhere. Surely worth more to shareholders to break it up and sell it either to PE or other hospital operators? Also the logic of holding a minority interest in Spire escapes me...perhaps the newish CEO will shake things up all round.

Why the focus on whether and when it drills?
All the matters is the drilling outcome!!!
If this well logs a decent level of moveable hydrocarbons then we are all very happy!!
Please be patient....

Until they drill the two wells we need to go back to sleep 💤

Nothing is going to wake us from this slumber. Only the drill bit turning to the right will make any difference 💦.

BBB rated debt with a negative outlook according to S&P. With an equity value of £8.8billion!!!! How can that be?

If the oil companies can drill West of Shetland they can certainly drill a mile off the north east coast :)

Well they’ve very recently bought back 120million of their own shares at 502p per share! So he’s doing something for the millions I suppose :))
