TLW agreed - the last sp lurch down on the back of the broker comments about covenant breaches is a nonsense. The new FD I’m sure will sort out a longer term funding position with their banks fairly soon. This is a decent business operating through difficult and changing market conditions in U.K. healthcare. I just hope MDC and/or HCA see a big future in the aging U.K. population!!! GLA.

The chairman is part of the Spire Healthcare board that turned down an offer from their major shareholder last year at 315p per share. Current Spire share price 136p!!!! He’s just who you want in charge here:)) GLA.

I’m really struggling to understand the Board’s position here. Why would they turn down help from their largest shareholder and founder? He wants to help with product and brand (his expertise I assume?).
I don’t know but SDRY had better issue great results on Thursday or they are going to look a little short of alternatives!

Guy who reached 65 years of age received three conflicting pension quotations from Aviva over several weeks! Plus they sent him the wrong product information. So they gave him £650 of our money to apologise for their delays and mistakes! Pity they don’t do the same thing for their shareholders :(

West Newton is a good shout for Reabold. Drill ready, fairly low risk and looks like the partners could use some cash for the planned 2019 well.

Haha why would I do that? My point is that any ownership of 3% of the equity in a listed entity must be disclosed.
I seriously doubt that an institution like Advent would acquire sub 3% interests in “separate trading entities” as you describe them. Advent are more likely to talk with MDC than scrub around buying small amounts of SPI equity. The MDC results announcement will be interesting. They are being slaughtered in their home SA market for the Spire investment and as Netcare have recently withdrawn from the U.K. I wouldn’t be surprised to see MDC follow suit.

GW if Advent did this they would be breaking the law. I still think best outcome for shareholders is a competitive bid between HCA & MDC.

TLW “share price significantly manipulated?” May I remind you that the Board in Nov’17 rejected the 315.5p takeover offer saying “undervalued Spire and it’s prospects”. Then less than 4 months later touted £200m ebitda by 2022. Then less than 6 weeks later issued a profit warning!! Jeez. Then followed through with results 4 months later quoting “unprecedented headwinds and NHS referrals collapsing” or similar words. Sorry I can’t agree with your conclusions. The facts don’t back up the statement. A bid is our best chance here.

Advent cannot yet have a disclosable +3% stake or it would have been announced by Spire already. Monday perhaps?
As for the Board I suspect if ANY offer is now forthcoming they would remove the arm and shoulder of a bidder after the experience they’ve had over the past 12 months!!

Does anyone know if the production rates quoted in today’s RNS are “gross” or “net” to Reabold’s 50% interest and whether royalty barrels have been deducted in arriving at these figures?

Yes you are correct and Cairn Energy also picked up the acreage in Bangladesh I believe which Shell overlooked and made a fortune. Chevron also drilled through a pesky gas column in Morecambe Bay Area back in the 1970s looking for deeper oil and walked away and BG took over the licence and supplied the UK with natural gas from this for many, many years. I accept that point and maybe Corallion have seen something that Shell missed in the subsurface interpretation.

Of course Kiwi how silly of me. Shell/Exxon probably never even noticed $125/bbl Brent :) while Curlew was producing away right above this well.
SS Corallion have shelled out precisely nothing to pick up a well option in the 30th licencing Round. And you know that

Please be careful with Curlew bob. There will be a blooming good reason why Royal Dutch Shell and their North Sea partner Exxon Corporation didn’t develop that 1977 well when the Curlew oil field started production inthat block in the mid 1990s.
