Not surprising tbh as the CEO “retirement”, one supplier changes their inventory policy and suddenly we have a big profit downgrade plus the resignation of the head of the US operation all these happened within a few days of each other and I assume that raises a bunch of nagging questions in investor’s minds, increasing the risk of this investment.
New CEO and New US head required and a couple of solid quarterly results with no “surprises” such as 1.Moving a factory or 2. Customer inventory change :( then they will get back on track. Hopefully. DYOR.

HH, Thanks for reading the document in full. As I’ve said before I want Colter drilled first please! I know its not what they said originally but weather (if that’s the hold up) can’t be controlled. Only winter season offshore drilling in the English Channel (most channel prospects are drilled from onshore locations with high angle wells so this is quite unusual) for obvious reasons. Miss the window wait another year (which is one of the reasons I want Colter drilled ASAP another is rising rig rates). Hopefully Corallion/Reabold will update the market next week, I still think Corallion are doing a great job of moving these prospects forward. Presumably Wick can be drilled with another jack-up? Finally the OGA are probably a little tied up with the Lancashire earthquake to worry too much about a conventional offshore appraisal well, but we live in strange times politically!! All the matters is logging oil in Colter and we can then relax!

GW, yes in a small way. Waiting for new FD to sort out the debt facilities before jumping in further. Valuation looking sensible to me at this level.
Mulder, Haha got to love the Labour Party response. They were the party in power who invented the 48 Independent Treatment Centres (ISTCs) in the early 2000s across England that was going to “abolish waiting lists” and allow the NHS to “bulk purchase” speciality treatments etc. Instead they made a negligible difference to the NHS and we (taxpayer) ended up paying hundreds of millions of pounds for operations that were never done :) got to love those politicians. (Btw that’s not a political stmnt, they are all as bad as each other). DYOR and GLA

What do you think happens Simon if all Corallion’s North Sea prospects discover oil? Will Reabold acquire Corallion 100% or try to sell out their minority position? I suppose Corallion could potentially IPO with Colter, Wick and their 30th Round discoveries. Would be an exciting prospect.

Hmm as long as you are not waiting for cash flow and dividends to buy your weekly shopping you’ll be fine. However generating cash flow is such an “old world” concept and not really relevant in the new Ocado world. Lucky you.

Market is not in long term decline. Not at all it will grow that is without question, demographics, wealth indicators etc I never said it would...

However my point is the owners of the big fixed cost private hospitals with beds they cannot fill due to the modern surgical, non or less invasive techniques and much shorter stays plus they are facing increased competition from smaller clinics and foreign players coming to no the U.K. market. Plus the private pay market is predominantly a south east market (HCA and BUPA for example are only in London). All private hospital players would love to pick up lots more pure private pay, but location of their hospitals is the restricting factor...IMO only of course!!.

But you missed out the only figure that really matters for E&P companies.....oil & gas reserves!!!!

They have already signed a rig contract from Ensco to drill the Colter well!!! As a small partner in the Colter licence not much ADL can do now except pay their cash calls and wait.......oh and cross their fingers!!!

Understood. I just think the English market place is getting way over supplied with food sellers. These days we do most of our “big stuff” shopping at Costco. Their prices are unbelievably cheap. Then we have a growing range of local supermarkets (Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Aldi, Morrisons, Lidl, Budgens, Co-op, local shops(best by miles).
Perhaps Ocado will out last them all, perhaps. I’ve no problem with Ocado per se just their silly high valuation.

The Board issued a profit warning not long after turning down the bid! You think that was in their mind when they refused the takeover offer? Sorry but the whole private hospital sector is in intensive care. Their market is in a long term decline, they have a load of debt and hospital building and equipment leases, the hospitals require huge capital expenditure to stay competitive etc etc.
£7 per share in 4 years? That could require ebitda of Spire to increase from £120m to something like £250m (or higher if valuation multiples fall in a rising interest rate environment). If you really believe that statement then this should be the only share you ever own.

Agree with this. Plus the value of the Colter barrels are huge sitting right next to Wytch Farm.
Please drill Colter first!!! If the upcoming well proved up 25-30 million barrels in that location it has an NPV of approx US$500-600milliion for the 100% interest. Material for all the partners imo.

First of all the Board should NEVER have turned down the offer from MDC last year. That was a mixture of stupidity/arrogance/overconfidence/misreading their market etc etc.

Problem they now have is that they invest lots of capital to make their facilities (both leased & freehold) appeal to surgeons, staff and private patients but c80% of their revenue is currently sourced from NHS referrals and health insurance referrals. Both of these payors are desperate to control & reduce reimbursement rates for the Ops.
Not a good mix imo. MDC update next month will hopefully clarify their intentions.
