A reasonable, calm reflection on the current state of play from Wellsite on the other channel IMHO
Throughout the waiting process, I've always appreciated that supplying one of the globals isn't as easy as throwing a switch. Planning of production goes right back to basics. If a major were planning a requirement for thousands of tonnes of Fruitflow annually, and obviously could not countenance any delay in supply at any time of year, then the raw material would have to be sourced, and perhaps processed, in more than one region of the world. That would need forward planning, and investment, on a very large scale. DSM are well capable of handling that, but the contract details to protect the interests of supplier and client, right through the chain, would be substantial.
I've never understood the folks who thought this could be an instant thing, since at its source it has a naturally grown raw material.
Having more patents in place may also keep moving the goalposts, but anyone who understates the important of a patent is just a nonsense IMO.
If we get no update, if we have to wait until the full report, then so be it, the whingers will reign for a period. Talk of DSM being the bully in the playground haven't read the DSM philosophy, or appreciated the vital role that inventors play in their total business. They need us, we need them.
