This is a reformulation of an existing big-pharma antibody drug. Precision is small-peptide, stroma-targeted delivery system designed to solve different problems such as poor penetration in dense solid tumours, systemic toxicity of chemo, resistance mechanisms etc.
Our precision targeted chemo is highly complementary to checkpoint inhibitors like Opdivo/Keytruda. DNA-damaging payloads can increase immunogenic cell death and make tumours more responsive to PD-1 blockade.
The NHS’s enthusiasm for convenient immunotherapy delivery here really shows the broader trend toward patient-friendly, outpatient oncology — exactly what Avacta is doing (higher doses, longer treatment duration, lower toxicity).
