Crikey all these posts over a sloppy tweet using old photos....sigh. It was bad enough with the confusion over the perforation tweet (how you could be confused I don't now).

What does it say in the Angus presentation on Slide 8.

"Immediately after the completion of the events above the rig will be demobilised and the well-test kit will be ordered for delivery to the Brockham site. This is expected to take approximately 14 days."

And they listed the same timings in their RNS.

So why bring well test equipment on the site when they haven't even completed the 2nd phase of perforations which judging by the size of the guns is really 1 perforation run per day due to operating hours (you can't have perforation guns in the well overnight...hence why it is taking much longer....yes its cheaper, but far less efficient).

So to recap, Angus need to:

Complete perforations.
Relog the well
Run in hole and set bridge plug.
Run in hole and set completions. Test and confirm everything is OK.

And only then....order well test equipment which is scheduled to take 20 days (I've included the demobilisation of the rig days as you wouldn't wait until the rig has gone).

We are supposed to be saving money, so why let a piece of equipment rust and cost you a daily rent?

Baits - Brockham is not a horizontal well...there is enough posts on here in the past to know that.

Barndoor - your statement "....but I think Brockham is also vertical (slant)." is incorrect.

A vertical well is deemed from a well angle of 0deg up to and not above 3 degrees hole angle, so it can't be a vertical slant well.

Brockham sidetrack was initiated at 74 degrees hole angle.

Mirasol - your segment "I worry the geology ISN'T the same............" doesn't make any sense.

The formations were deposited at the same time millions of years ago....the only difference is burial depth and thicknesses due to the original landscape the deposition took place.

Pboo - again ...what does the Angus programme say about ordering well test equipment? When the water zone is isolated. What are they doing now? Perforation then logging and then .......running a bridge plug. Please don’t post incorrect information

Yanis - how can the well testing equipment be mobilised when the well isn’t even isolated?!?! What does the Angus programme say?

Yanis - you first have to cross the finishing line to achieve a time / date. As I said from day one...the perforations are irrelevant....its the running and confirmed setting of the bridge plug that is the biggest hurdle. Once this is confirmed then I shall be happy. Why you may ask? Because of the numerous potential issues that can cause the bridge plug to fail and up to now...no sign of the back up bridge plug.
Bridge plug fails = continued communication with water zone whilst waiting on replacement.
Bridge plug sets = big sigh for all investors and then its focussing on flow rates (something we have been talking about for 28 long months).

Yanis - Angus isn't conducting a North Korea-esque subterranean nuclear test. Perforations are just some ball bearings that are shot through the casing and into the rock. So your following comment doesn't make sense.... "What is the point in setting the plug first, then perfing setting off charges that may disturb the zones possibly creating more fractures that may allow water to seep through and possibly find another way in to the well?"

And yes I note Tidswell used my 'Rocket Science" comment I messaged him.....sigh

WL1516 - calliper logs proves that you get a restriction in ID meaning there is inwards movement.

Also like a snow globe you have metal fragments suspended within the fluid system. Running a bridge plug with several mm's clearance either side of the casing can result in a metal birds nesting with the entire running assembly getting stuck.

Would you rather run a bridge plug in a smooth casing string with a clean fluid or after perforations where its like the inside of a cheese grater with a fluid system full of metallic debris?

Even the bridge plug company says to run a scraper and thats for a standard operation.

The correct thing to do is run a scraper with a mill on the bottom with several junk baskets and magnets. You rotate the string to clean the the casing and stir up the metal debris before switching the pumps off and working the string up and down to catch the debris in the junk baskets.

ChasPB - that’s a fair point and seeing the forum still hasn’t been set up then I will. Though they never posted the photos of the back up bridge plug even after several requests.....which makes it even more important to remove any debris from the well which could cause you issues.

B2HS2L - I agree with your assessment regarding the reason for the RNS. It's great we get additional information (especially out of hours) and I couldn't care less about how many RNS they issue. Would rather they spent money keeping us informed than paying salaries for folk for the last 2 years.

Well the drop in SP must have concerned them enough especially if its true that DL shares will hit the market from tomorrow. Or maybe somebody knows that and is playing a clever game?

The perforations is not a bit of noise (pardon the pun). The Everest for Angus is running the bridge plug through all those perforations (jagged metal edges) setting it and confirming the water zone is isolated. I do hope they run a scraper / junk baskets as now you have more metal debris to contend with in the well (with regards to the rubber element that has to set). Investing in some good old fashioned cleaning will pay dividends.

Lockedin - they had 4 months to plan this, go to the HSE / OGA for permission and then changed their minds after starting the job which meant they had to then go back and explain why they were doing it....sigh.

The main issue is the isolation of the water zone. Doesn't matter how many holes they make into the casing, if they don't isolate the water you are left with the same problem that they faced in December / January.

So 2 stages of perforations doesn't mean 2 runs.....they are perforating a specific zone multiple times which requires numerous runs , so that means time. They allocated 19 working days for this phase including logging, isolation and what they are currently doing now (perforating).

So safe and steady ....I guess you can call the last 28 months that waiting for Brockham to flow...is just that and the timings they issued (well seeing that the plan has changed...are those timings still relevant or will it take longer than the timings Angus published ...who knows?)
