As a shareholder, I am very keen to see the company do well. I think it might be helpful to their European sales effort if their name could be included in this Heidelberg university study showing independent reviews of lateral flow devices.

Thank you for the information on OrientGene. I raised this with Julia Lopez MP during a Westminster Hall debate a few weeks ago and have requested a meeting with her. Although she has indicated she is willing to meet, I don’t have a meeting in the diary as yet.

I have been raising this testing and surveillance since last summer, and have tabled multiple written and oral questions but the government don’t seem to understand or care. The PM has bet the farm on vaccinations, but he is creating the very circumstance that will lead to further mutation and has no strategy to effectively test or conduct genomic assessment in a meaningful way. The current approach is foolhardy and dangerous.

Most people are highly uninformed. Not to mention the fact that 600,000 Innova tests went missing recently. They will probably show up on Ebay at attractive prices. Whether people pay for quality or not depends on whether the Govt actually introduces uniform standards for LFTs and approves those tests that can be used for 'release/green light'.

Someone asked on the BB the other day how it is that so many Chinese tests are being approved for use at Porton Down and MHRA. This reminded me that I had read somewhere that the Director of the MHRA medicines licencing division was Chinese. (Dr Siu Ping Lam) https://themedicinemaker.com/power-list/2016/siu-ping-lam. This made me wonder where exactly Dr Lam sat in the MHRA hierarchy. However, looking at the MHRA 2021 organogram, I can't see him mentioned anywhere - which seems strange for someone with the job title 'Director, Licensing Division'.

Never mind, I suppose it's difficult to get to grips with transparency in an organisation of 1200 employees. We should all be thankful that Lord 'teflon' Bethell stepped in in January this year to introduce "The MHRA Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway" to speed up time to market for the best medicines. Can't envisage any brown envelopes involved there.

If anyone knows more about the inner workings of the MHRA, it would be interesting to know what kind of medicines and devices Dr Lam is approving.

Yes, the Gov. seem obsessed with PCR now - probably a reaction to focus group discussions where they have learnt that the U.K. population is very sceptical of LTFs. What we need is a PR stunt whereby someone gets hold of some AffiDX tests, travels abroad, refuses to take PCR abut offers instead to take ‘better than PCR’ lateral flow test’ to be admitted back into U.K. Let’s chain ourselves to Passport Control booths, whatever it takes!

I am not a constituent (or even a Scot) but I felt compelled to write, having very much enjoyed your performance during Prime Minister's Questions yesterday. I felt that you completely blind-sided Boris by mentioning the Innova scandal in the House of Commons. His blustering answer gave the impression that he is either unaware of what Matt Han**** has been getting up to regarding dodgy contracts for LFTs or else he was hoping that it had been swept under the carpet with Matt Han****'s resignation, and would never see the light of day. Congratulations on bringing this matter to the nation's attention.

It is because you have become an eloquent champion of the UK diagnostics industry that I would like to alert you in advance to the next chapter of this Scandal. As you know, the Innova EUA runs out at the end of August. The Government has therefore been looking at replacement home tests. In answer to a written question (https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questions/detail/2021-06-15/16120) about what the Government intends to do post Innova, MP for Bury St Edmunds, Jo Churchill answered on 21 June 2021

"We are planning to diversify the supply of lateral flow devices (LFDs) and have begun to deploy other products in some settings, including the Orient Gene device. We will expand this over the coming months."

Please be aware that the Orient Gene (also marketed under the name 'Healgen') and full name Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co., Ltd is also very much a Chinese company based at 3787#, East Yangguang Avenue, Dipu Street, Anji, Huzhou, Zhejiang, China.

Frankly, this latest move suggests that the Govt. is planning to replace Chinese test with Chinese test while continuing to ignore the infinitely superior lateral flow tests produced by both Mologic and Avacta in the UK.

Please continue with your crusade and I hope that this information helps you.

We should all write to Neale Hanvey MP and inform him about this latest pro-Chinese twist. He seems to be making it a personal crusade, but he also comes across as balanced and mature in his arguments, so he is a good ally for us. He certainly caught Boris by surprise yesterday, but he will hopefully be encouraged by that and pursue it further. No doubt ‘Orient gene’ will be repackaged as Healgen and sold to us out of a postbox address in the U.K. or USA. Bloody scandalous.

I did find it intriguing that in the (now mysteriously deleted) oncology video, AS referred to Avacta as a Cambridge-based company. I am so used to thinking of it as Wetherby-based. I realise that this is to do with the fact that Diagnostic and Therapeutic divisions are geographically separated, but it also occurred to me that this separation of assets could make it easier to sell off diagnostics.

Hello folks, bought in this morning because I keep reading everywhere that Lithium is the thing to invest in. Like the fact that the asset is in Germany too - great rule of law etc. It’s a bit more reassuring than my two other mining stocks in Russia and Tanzania!

Boris has just been asked about Innova in PMQ and answered that they were working night and day (or some such hyperbole) to build up U.K. lateral flow test industry.

Meanwhile, I note that my endeavours has the opposite effect on the SP to what I was hoping. :-(

Has anyone else tried it? Life without carbs is miserable. No bread, no pasta, no rice, nothing sugary. Nevertheless, I need to shift my lockdown added kilos, so I’m giving it a go. Meanwhile over at MHC, their trading update boasts £3 million revenue in just 2 months as a result of supplying Covid testing facilities to Boots and EasyJet as one of the suppliers on the Government list for "Fit to Fly", "Test to Release" and "Days 2 and 8" testing.
