What a load of nonsense. I expect that the hon. Gentleman does not want to see—just taking a random example—the thousands of jobs created in car plants, just because of his vindictive and really very narrow view of how the world should operate. It is absolutely ridiculous. Anybody who is able to come to this country, for whatever reason, will be under very strict restrictions. They will require testing and they will be able to carry out only that specific piece of business. To my mind, if this helps thousands of people to keep their jobs and get new jobs, it is well worth while.

I have read the whole transcript. There is scarcely any mention of testing at all (apart from the response to Stephen *****’s excellent question near the end.) This blinkered Government seems to be dangling the carrot of international travel only for the “fully vaccinated”. Consequently they still can’t figure out what to do about children and those medically barred from having the jab. (Doh!)

I honestly and seriously doubt that any ‘mis-steps’ were Actavas. I think they have been over a barrel and positively bewildered by the corrupt goings on at the centre of government. I am very glad that they are not part of ant contract drawn up with that shrivelled little winker, Matt Handjob.

Let’s hope we all get out of this unscathed at the very least. It’s one thing to identify companies that should be making ‘loads of money’ based on their market offering and exceptional circumstances. It’s quite another to think that a few slimeballs in the top echelons of government have interfered in order to feather their own nests while others suffer - or even die. They are beyond contempt.

Yep, that is why I am personally defunding the BBC by not paying my licence fee. If peeps like us have been switched on for a whole year about the importance of ‘home-grown’ antigen testing, how thick and bovine does our media have to be not to pick up the same clues?

The real scandal regarding testing is that the gov has spent billions of pounds importing the crap Innova tests from China while failing to assist two UK companies who have developed extremely accurate lateral flow tests which could have been helped to contain Covid long ago. Why is this you may ask? Corruption? Incompetence?

Why are they not supporting tests that acually work? Lack of brown envelopes perhaps?

Performance levels like this mean that these tests will accurately identify those who are infectious - even if they have no symptoms.
These tests are available now and they work! But instead of using them, the Gov has granted a 2-month extension to use of Innova.

Please stop saying that testing doesn't work. It does - but only where reliable tests are used. SO WHY IS THE GOVERNMENT CONTINUING TO USE INNOVA? (Follow the money.)

I think that my career Tory MP sees her prospects rather more on the Rishi side than the Boris side. The waste of taxpayer money aside from anything else shoud motivate a Secretary to the Treasury to investigate further. The more MPs we hit, the more chance that one of them will see a good career move in championing UK Diagnostice Industry over spaffing money up the Great Wall of China.
