It seems that in Sheffield there is a group of boys that is deliberately going out and partying with Covid. The girls in my daughter’s house, on the other hand, are cautious. They wanted a small party to celebrate finals results and of course they wanted it to be Covid free as they are all heading back to parents this week. But then one of the four of them got pinged (not my daughter), so they all went for testing. After two negative LFTs and no symptoms, my daughter could have been forgiven for believing she was clear but in her words “nobody believes the LFT results”, so she got a PCR test to be ‘sure’. The other three girls all tested negative with PCR, so they kindly asked her to leave the house.
So, on the contrary, I am happy to do the 300 mile round trip so to get her so that the others can have a discreet party to celebrate a rite of passage.

I got ‘pinged’ yesterday. Turns out this was because my daughter has Covid again. (She first had it back in September.) When she went for her PCR test (after two negative lateral flow tests), she gave my address rather than her student digs in Sheffield. This was so that a planned party to celebrate their finals results could go ahead regardless of her Covid test results. So now I have to go and pick her up before the party.
The irony is that I have been pinged for being in contact with someone who is admittedly Covid positive, but is actually 150 miles away.

Could it be that this offer of Government help and 'fast-tracking' is nothing more than an exercise to flush out all companies that have viable options, offer them false promise of huge contracts and then slap an NDA on them so that that they can't complain about all the frustrations, delays and goalpost shifting that ensues.

Meanwhile testing contracts go to Chinese companies and no treatments emerge. We continue to hear nothing but vaccination propaganda. Remember that the Covid vaccines are only permitted under EUA whilst there is no viable alternative treatment.

Forgive my (now rampant) cynicism, but do we have any thoughts on what the government is trying to achieve with its grant to Open Orphan human challenge study?

As part of the characterisation study, researchers aimed to identify a dose of COVID-19 that causes a safe and reliable infection in unvaccinated COVID-19 naïve volunteers. The UK Government has decided to expand the Human Challenge Programme to answer further questions that can help in the fight against COVID-19.

So they want to find a dose that will cause infection amongst the unvaccinated?

The virus being used in the characterisation study has been produced under hVIVO's supervision by a team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust in London, with support from virologists at Imperial College London.

Supposedly this is done in the name of ‘finding a cure’. Is it in fact the next round of the propaganda campaign that will lead to vaccination of children?

GS, I know exactly how you’re feeling. I’m now up in the early hours of the morning reading “State of Fear” by Laura Dodsworth which is a remarkable expose of how behavioural psychology and ‘nudge theory’ has been used to dupe us all into renouncing our human rights. The most depressing part is that these experts at the heart of government have been super effective at weaponising fear to get us to agree to lockdown, but they never thought through how they would reverse the psychology to get us out of it. Shambolic as ever. A very good and thoroughly depressing read!
