Contain the spread of the virus
Strengthening the production capacity in local and regional centers is essential to ensure the implementation of effective testing strategies by health care providers in low- and middle-income countries, in order to contain the spread of the virus.
Agreements supporting collaborations between Xixia pharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Viatris) and Guangzhou wondfo biotech (Wondfo), between Dcn Dx and Wama diagnóstica, and between Diatropix of the Pasteur Institute in Dakar, Bionote and Mologic have been signed.
Find and Unitaid support the creation of a Center of Excellence at Dcn Dx to facilitate the technology transfer of Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) to manufacturers in the Prfi. The company Wama diagnóstica, based in Brazil, is the first of these manufacturers. It will supply Latin America and the Caribbean. To further boost testing capacity in low- and middle-income countries, Find and Unitaid announce that Wondfo, based in Guangzhou, China, is partnering with Viatris (through its subsidiary Xixia pharmaceuticals based in Gauteng, South Africa ) to market low-cost Tdr-Ag in these countries. This partnership between a high volume manufacturer and a global distributor could produce 144 million tests per year at a price capped at $ 2.50 (ex-factory price). diagnosis in Dakar.
