I have three daughters fitting BOO demographics. Oldest is a graduate, saddled with debt. Now buys clothes from charity shops and boycotts fast fashion out of concern for the planet.
Middle one failed year one at uni, is currently jobless and tells me that ‘of course’ she would buy BooHoo cos she can’t afford anything else. Youngest is still a student, has signed the #boycottBooHoo petition and has also been avoiding fast fashion, buying clothes from charity shops wherever possible. If she has an event to go to and can’t find anything appropriate to wear, she will order online, wear the garment without taking the labels off and then return it the next day. I guess my point is that the ‘woke’ kids boycotting Boohoo were not likely to have been their customers before this crisis broke out, it’s a new bandwagon for virtue signalling.
