MT - just remember that Sino Forrest and Valeant's "independent audits" were delayed two or three times, and by months. Just because NMC said they'd try get it out before results, does not mean for definite they will (especially if the business is as complicated as those damn misreported shareholdings!)

I'm suspecting they might announce a delay to both the report, and thereby also the results, shortly.

can't disagree with you on that - this share price movement is hilarious... but crazy SP volatility is a very typical characteristic of companies before they blow up (flybe/thomas cook etc)

Possible reasons:
1) closed period (not 100% on rules though)
2) not allowed due to Freeh report
3) decided it will have no impact on share price so will be cancelling for better uses of cash
4) no cash left as all spent on legal reviews and Freeh report

CEO and bond payment come above share buyback on the income statement and priority for cash flow
