extrader,
(Yet more)
"I admire your chutzpah, though maybe you should save it for the poker table."
That intrigued me a bit, because although I recognise the word 'chutzpah', never really knew its meaning. So of course, have gone to wrongopedia to find out a bit more, and got this:
"the quality of audacity, for good or for bad. It derives from the Hebrew word ?utspâ (????????), meaning "insolence", "cheek" or "audacity". Thus the original Yiddish word has a strongly negative connotation but the form which entered English through Ameridish has taken on a broader meaning, having been popularized through vernacular use in film, literature, and television. The word is sometimes interpreted—particularly in business parlance—as meaning the amount of courage, mettle or ardor that an individual has.["
Hmmmmmmm.
Go tell it to Mr Bernstein of Crystal Amber.
If I have any of the 'quality' sides of the thing, I can't use them at the poker-table right now, 'cos they're all closed down.
And online (last resort right now), I've found that downright lying works well...
