For me, the best phrase in today's RNS is this:

Hope that'll cause some potential investors to sit up and take notice!

I was intrigued to read that the reason for the Lincoln tieback being 'postponed' (at best) was due to an inability (so far) to 'obtain the necessary consents'. Once again (an unfortunate habit with HUR's communications), this begs more questions than it answers. What sort of 'consents' are being witheld, and by whom? Is it OGA? If so, those boys and girls ought to be given a good shakeup. Are they being deliberately obstructive? Or are they being 'leaned on' by some competitor? Might some 'corruption' be lurking below the surface?

Or alternatively (pure speculation), might it be a matter of 'consents' from BP, who are contractually taking the offloads from the FPSO? Something to do with the fact that 'Lincoln oil' partly belongs to Spirit? Or that the two crudes are of a different API rating?

I do hope Dr Trice will expand on this during the CMD.

Seems like a waste of time streaming sermons. 'Cos I suspect that God (if he exists, which I doubt) will have gone into self-isolation by now. And probably due to total despair over the stupidity of his creation, might not re-emerge for quite a while...

Glad to see that a paper like the Torygraph is at least using phrases like 'the biggest ever peacetime curb on civil liberties'. Seems I'm not alone in my thinking. Does anyone know who I might be able to sue for these infringements on my liberties? Maybe we could crowdfund it, because I know a number of local cafe, restaurant, and shop owners who'd also like to see the case come to court.

Looks like you're probably right.

I did indeed get in touch with a 'contact', who has no problem with me quoting his response, as follows:

Of course, the field isn't producing at 30k right now. We believe around 20. But if my 'source' (who I'll keep anonymous) is right, 'flarewatching' is pointless in regard to trying to find out about power-generation on the fpso.

Yes, from the answer I received from 'hurricomms', the CMD is still 'on' (I don't think I'm breaching any confidences here), but the way it takes place may differ from the 'format' previously announced, due to this Covid thing.

As mentioned, check the website for more details.

And anyway, people who consider themselves 'serious' investors should look at the company website first, anyway, not a BB like this ! :-))

I have now received a response from Ben, but without having received express permission from him to quote his reply verbatim, I won't do so here. I've responded to his reply to me, but he's no doubt terribly busy, so that's how it'll have to be.

I have no option other than to 'take this thing seriously', in terms of printing out an 'attestation de derogement de deplacement' to present to a police-person, and so on.

However, although I know alcohol is not very good for one's immune system (for those who partake in it rarely), it can be very good for the mental health of those who are used to the stuff.

However, assuming I stop into Canet (very likely) on my way to Lloret in September (assuming the world hasn't finally ended), I won't be in truck-race mood, but instead in a poker-playing one. He's proposed his place for ten quid a night, which sounds an absolute bargain. Canet is a lovely seaside town, far better than Argeles, just down the road. But 75% of my winnings? No way. 50% maybe, so long as he bankrolls my buy-in. :-))

Unfortunately I'm of the same opinion. I was rather distressed to see the interview on Sky, and am not surprised to see the Euro / Sterling shift. Carney may have had a few shortcomings, but nevertheless presented himself well. Bailey just comes across as a barrow-boy, and others will run rings around him so fast his head'll spin.

That's a very kind thought. And amazingly coincidental. Because I got an email from that casino today, announcing some sort of 'special event' starting for the next fortnight. Obviously 'automatically generated' and has slipped through the net, because all of Groupe JOA, like the other casino corporations, have shut up shop for now.

I know the place well (or rather the poker-room), because it's a haunt of mine when I go to Elne (23 km down the road), for the first truck-cross race of the season, or any other gathering there. Unfortunately I suspect the race has been cancelled (next month) as well.

Hopefully this madness will have subsided by September, so I may pop in and see you on my way to the 'Sismix' week at Lloret de Mar, in Spain.

PPS Though come to think of it, my 'win ratio' at Canet isn't too brilliant, because truck-racing and playing poker don't really mix, even though I try to. Just having too much fun all at the same time, which plays hell with one's concentration. Plus there's a croupiere there who's an absolute doll, and that distracts me from mentally calculating the 'implied pot-odds' as well......

Which I already have, inserting my name, date of birth, and address, and have printed out ten of them. But I'm highly tempted to modify it further, including a box to tick followed by the phrase "Je sors pour aller braquer une banque". Because the banks are still open.

There's always online. I couldn't sleep properly last night, so got up at six and logged in to a little six-player 'cash game' on my favorite site. Doubled my buy-in within ten minutes, so logged out before a 'bot could get to me, and went back to bed. Still couldn't sleep, though.

But online 'ain't the same' as 'live. Numerous phone calls have been doing the rounds. One plan has been for various people to declare themselves as 'professional players' and make up a bit of paper to that effect. And like that we could gather at La Rochelle on the basis we were 'going to work'. But there's a problem. 'Pro players' have to pay tax on their winnings...

It's a bit of a long-shot idea. But I'd have expected a decrease in the flare size when the GT's came on line (if they have), which might have been seen by anyone within eyeball distance. Maybe around the end of January.

That's an uncalled-for bit of sarcasm, which upsets me. But I'm upset about so many things right now (like not being to go for a walk without a piece of paper to show to police-people) that I'll let it ride. Though in fact I've just thought of someone who might be able to ask direct (he ought to know) if the AM's now running on gas. So thanks for the suggestion.
