I think what you’re saying is fine, we like to do better than average returns though so ideally we would find decent entry points, improving our returns.

I hold Vodafone, I’ll probably reinvest my dividend into Vodafone, it’s only approx £500.

I know what you’re saying Fleccy but it’s a very flimsy investment expectation and strategy. Pretty much guaranteed there will be dividend stumbles along the way. Entry point is key.

Fleccy your 20-30 year example of £2 maintained vs £1 maintained reinvested doesn’t take into account the time aspect of money in that you had to hold for 20 years to break even.

You disregarded many factors but you didn’t consider that dividends are often cut or lowered which is relevant as you are including dividend reinvestment in your reasoning

This shows that drahi and DT could easily attempt the same that the KKR US is attempting on Italy / EU.

Unless the share price heads back to 170p range with a 45% premium, we are, in the interim, sitting ducks.

Basically we need this to settle around 160p at a minimum. With an average 40% premium that would probably cover most of our averages / divi reinvestments . It could also deter a buy out, staying at 122p range we are a massive target. And from the articles today any vultures circling are going to act before the price recovers and Labour are in the hot seat, cheap price and outgoing tories are asset stripper drahi’s best moment to pounce in conjunction with DT.

We need inflation to come down. And looking at projections, we only get back to target in 4-5 years time…

Hope they can’t be taken over or taken private .

At this share price even if we got 40% premium to be bought out , our shares and future divi income would be basically stolen.

Well there are rumours the wealthy are waiting for things to go lower again this year before jumping in. So it could be they want in even cheaper before next years rise

By the time Bt dividends are flowing on lower capex , Labour will be vacating a one term stay at 10.. tories will be back in.

Jansen leaving now as his plans are in motion as far as he can take them. Probably can’t recover the share price he expected to command on his departure due to covid war and inflation . So is departing before the nasty job of overseeing headcount culling commences.
