How much weight does a letter to OFSI carry in getting suspension lifted? I mean of course evraz are going to deny any wrong doing. Would the OFSI and FCA take it on face value? Is it a much more symbolic than just a letter?

There is one reason we all keep commenting on evraz (those of us invested that is).

If your job was in jeopardy , much like your investment here, you wouldn’t be able to rest without clarity or resolution.

What’s the duration of a temporary suspension? I can’t find if there’s a max duration. On the Nasdaq it seems it’s 10 days? Also seems LSE and Fca have to outline reasons for suspension and actions needed to be allowed to trade again.
Which suggests we will know in great detail soon if the actions required are possible, or if we are destined for doom?

One of Canada’s foremost sanctions experts says Ottawa should be concerned about the risk that steel products from Evraz North America’s mills could be exported to help the Russian war effort in Ukraine.

“Tubular steel products can be used as an input for missiles,” Toronto-based international trade lawyer Cyndee Todgham Cherniak said.

She said Russian oligarchs have set up steel plants and fertilizer companies around the world, both of which can be used to create weapons. “What I certainly wouldn’t want have happen is tubular products made by Canadian workers ending up being shipped to Russia so they can convert those tubular goods into missiles to then be used against Ukraine.”

FCA saying protect investors , well it must mean new investors. If it meant existing investors how does suspending temporarily indefinitely help existing investors ? The FCA don’t know if the stock would tank and for the hour before suspension we knew Roman was sanctioned and it didn’t really tank then.
FCA didn’t suspend for two weeks allowing it to tank 90%.

FCA suspended to protect from further investor damage. Not to protect existing investments.

One of the points the FCA mentioned was suspension to protect investors. Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s easy to think this means protecting us, those who are currently invested.

On the flip side this might not mean that, it could mean protecting anyone from further investing, or any new investors. Which would mean , existing investors are already doomed, we just want to contain the damage.

The Financial Times was reporting that when all directors resign which has now happened, there will be a move to appoint local directors rather than international ones.
