If it was RM shaving 5% they'd have to do nothing in that they could take the 5% back at any future Scancell equity issue and keep their powder dry on the existing CLNs (which are earning 3% whatever happens). Can't see they'd want to use their CLNs when they could, if they wished, take more on any future fundraising which would cement their control over the company if they wanted that.
I reckon if it is RM then they've played a blinder (particularly if they've attracted a new II of substance.

I really wouldn't apply PI investment ideas (free shares) against an II holding. II work to regulatory and more sophisticated models than holdin "free shares". If they feel they want to divest divest they will. That's not to say that they don't have a good reason which may have nothing to do with Scancell's prospects. Don't forget Glencross was very outspoken about Scancell a few years back. He was obviously placated in some way but his comments were made at a lower level than Friday's close. Further to that it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they have struck a deal with another existing holder, but however you look at it I'm not sure that whatever has happened results from a sale of shares. The market hasn't demonstrated any such numbers having been passed through in smaller trades, and one trade to MMs would have been highly unlikely.
I'll stick with an agreed transfer at COB price last Wednesday.

IMO if Redmile were approached for a significant amount of stock at this level it wouldn't be a bad thing from their point of view.
We know they are very close to the bid trigger level and they have significant clout behind that with their CLNs. Not only that they have little room for manoeuvre should they be once again called on for capital.
I think they would be very pleased to release some capital from Scancell (let's face it they were a white knight last year, they surely don't want to own us).
That said, if they are happy to transfer the stake to a new investor we have RM with a massive stake still and a new investor prepared to pay almost Market for 5%. IF (and a big IF) the transferee is a US corporate/Fund I reckon we should all be V. happy bunnies.
In fact if the new owner (if this isn't a "Housekeeping" operation) is a single corporate/Fund wherever it's based I still remain V happy.
Will be interesting to see when we do get that RNS...
I can wait.

DE personal holding, last heard aound 9M shares from memory.

I would think that there's something in the "Trade" being On Exchange but after hours; the question of whether the TR1 reporting expiry is adjusted for the "Late" report and also whether a half trading day (Christmas Eve) counts towards the TR1 reporting term or whether that also contributes to the likelihood of a disclosure on 29th (or maybe even the 30th). Perhaps the reporting source was wrongly applied?
Given all the unusual circumstances my guess is we'll probably hear by the end of the year! I did originally think possibly before Christmas but that was more in hope than expectation.
Oh, don't forget, how about the "Trade" being cancelled? LOL
Probably best to be patient. I'm sure we'll get some news on it IDC.
Might be interesing when/if we do.

Any MM holding 40M SCLP shares as inventory for a couple of weeks would probably mean that they'd NEED to to stop trading in AIM LOL.... I thought the idea was that they made their money on the spread?

Any TR1 should be posted within two trading days of the event.
Since the actual movement was posted after hours yesterday I'm not certain whether the notifiable expiry date is 24th or 29th December and to be honest I can't be bothered to find out!
If there was no notification before 29th it would be a masterstroke of timimg to keep the market completely stunned....
I imagine we'll hear before Christmas...
PS always assumes we don't see the "trade" cancelled this AM....

At least Fergus Walsh seems to understand what he should be doing. Dispassionately reporting the news and what might happen in a non sensational and balanced manner. At least there are small pockets of professionalism at Aunty!

When Amazon started their Alexa system, BBC was the default on the news providers. Maybe two years ago (perhaps more) they managed to Dumb it Down to such a degree it became painful and useless. I cancelled that and switched. I know that many others did too. Just recently they've been trying to claw back users by advertising on their main networks. What with that sort of fiasco and the biased and at times misleading provision of "News" which IMO is now more like "The World as it is to the North London (self appointed) Left elite". Our national broadcaster has turned itself into a self opinionated News "interpreter" rather than "Provider".
They take our licence fee and dish it out (in very large chunks) to "Reporters" who seem to think they should act like Influencers rather than treating their audience (such as is left) as people who want unadulterated reported fact.
It was a shame that GB News was set up simply to become a vanity operation for its Chief Executive. It singularly failed to live up to its original promise.
I could go on , but ...... :-)

Wonder if your " online retailers/shops" were a part of an inflation proofing excercise .
I included some of the usuals (commodities, retailers and utilities) several months ago simply to try and get some inflation friendly holdings. If the future looks as bleak from that perspective as I think it might I want some income earners that people will use come rain or shine and so should work to the shareholders' advantage. Trouble is, the desire of Private Equity Funds to do the same thing is making the long term play look slightly less than long term in several cases ATM. LOL

On the positives I was staggered to read the problems that were faced by what many suggested was an "old Pals" route through for the Oxford vaccine.
I suspect that in some cases it rather embarrassingly gives lie to the actual knowledge that some profess to have whereas I found the lecture to be massively instructive.
Thanks for your kind words, sometimes you trip over something that changes your view (if not understanding) of some "Givens".
