@sandgrounded - even though it's a new camp, it's still only a temporary camp. The main camp will eventually be situated in the far SE corner of the tenement. If you look in the details of the application it says the life expectancy is only 3 years.

Just had a quick measure and it's about 900m from the centre of the proposed camp to the centre of the current one. The current camp doesn't belong to Newcrest - it's a contracting company called https://www.rapidcamps.com.au/ than supplied it.

It's a mobile camp - I'm guessing if they are going to be exploring and digging for the next 3 years they want something a little more permanent and comfortable - just guessing??

Yes - they definitely carried on right through the summer months last year only having about 3 weeks off over the Christmas break.
Once the box-cut is completed and the decline crew are working underground then I guess it won't matter to them if it's day or night, winter or summer.
I expect the infill drilling to continue right throughout the summer and into next year - they are aiming for the PFS towards the end of next year so they will need to convert as much of the inferred resource than we get in the MRE into indicated ounces for the PFS to be completed.
Remember NCM can not finish Stage 3 until they provide the PFS - so they will effectively be locked into 40% ownership until than is delivered regardless of how much money they spend over the next 12 months.

The plans are in the documents showing the location of the camp and the associated sewage system - I'd say that's a pretty big statement of intent - Paddy

That's a very good point AAA, whatever is going on down there it's all positives IMO.

I've plotted the 2 new clearances at Scallywag onto Google Earth to give us some idea of where they line up in relation to the targets. One assumes they will be conducting downhole surveys, so they should be building up a nice geological picture of the layout of the anomaly in that area now.

Morning all,
Sentinel satellite update is in for today. Interesting developments indeed.
Havieron is still having the "bejesus" drilled out of it. I can see where they have created 2 new drill pads to the East of the deposit so it's either more infill on the sulphide zone or hopefully a steeper angle to attack the East to a greater depth.

There is a massive earth disturbance to the West of the field camp right on the access road (They have diverted the access road around it). The location of this structure / excavation must be pretty critical for them to divert the road I would suggest. I won't speculate on what it might be but we can safely assume that the mine infrastructure development has started - so we are into the next phase of development.

On to Scallywag - they are still drilling away at the second location in London and I can possibly see a third location about halfway between the first two.

There are new areas cleared to the West of London which line up roughly with the top of the Blackbeard target and I can see possibly 2 more locations at Kraken where there has been activity also.

All in all - a pretty substantial amount of activity in the past days, so while all the fun & games is going on with the share price and everyone is cr*pping themselves GGP & NCM have been busily getting on with the job in hand on the ground.

Agreed T&T,

The inferred is the figure that will be the interesting one for us - even if we do get an indicated figure for the sulphide zone it would not matter much as they are 18 months away from getting the decline down there so there's plenty of opportunity to beef that up in the coming months.

We want to see a nice chunky inferred number and hopefully some nice statements that show how the grade continuity is good and they have high confidence levels to convert the inferred to indicated during the PFS stage.

@Spratt - I've just seen your message and had a look on planet.com, it's an interesting development to keep an eye for sure.

There should be a Sentinel update tomorrow so I'll be logged on to check in the morning. It certainly looks to be an excavation so what could it be.
Could be the beginning of the box-cut for the decline portal, could be some sort of foundations for some other infrastructure perhaps? I thought the other black square to the NE of the camp ages ago might be significant and nothing came of it so I think we should wait and see what happens.

Hi all, Just logged on for a quick browse. I would point out that the last few Newcrest updates have all stated that they are working towards an inferred resource.

"At Havieron, exploration programs have focused on an infill drilling program to deliver an inferred resource and step
out drilling to define the extent of the Havieron mineralised system."

Inferred is the lowest category of confidence in the JORC standard. They may need an inferred resource to allow them to complete their scoping study.

The inferred resource would then be converted to an indicated resource as they continue the infill drilling which would allow them to complete their PreFeasibility Study.

I'm not prepared to take a guess at the level that the MRE will be declared but the inferred category will give them plenty of scope to be adventurous should they so wish.

Spy - it's games and more games, they want to play with people's emotions. They want you to watch the screen and rejoice as they give you a bit of blue and then despair as you watch all your paper profits from this morning disappear in a few minutes and turn red.
They want you to lose your rag, scream at the screen and then decide f**k this and press the sell button. If you want to lock in either your profit or loss then that's completely your decision, but if you believe in the story, the assets, and the management then switch off and do something more enjoyable for the rest of the afternoon.

You can add your own gold and copper grades per ton to come up with an acceptable figure but as a bulk mining proposition I think Havieron will pass muster.

Good morning all,
I've been frightened to post this morning in case I'm getting the blame for people's actions and yes I've followed my own advice and while it's painful reading (believe me my paper loss this week is substantial) for me it's still the best course of action and has proven to be so over the last 2.5 years.

The positive catalysts still to come in the coming months should see us head in the right direction again, 5 weeks today we will be pouring over the next set of quarterly results from Newcrest and we should have had results from Scallywag by then also.

I'm not giving out advice anymore but I'm not changing my course of action any day soon.

They only put out a visual mineralisation RNS on HAD005 and that was only because they had the previously assayed HAD001 to compare it with and it was from a very close distance to HAD001.

They are not obliged to report anything other than assayed cores/chips and as Scallywag is over 6km from Havieron the mineralisation (if there is any) may well be completely different. I'm guessing Callum will have a very good idea of what he is looking at but IMO they will hold of reporting until we have the assays.

I would expect the results from the AEM survey before the drill results - that could be any day now.
