I was reading through the Newcrest Exploration report again this morning and I’m not sure if anyone else has picked up on this or not but the actual title of the report is “Quarterly Exploration Report - For the three months ended 30 June 2019” even though it was released on the 25th July. Here’s a link for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.

If the report was made up to the end of June then it would make perfect sense why they “only” reported 2,800m of drilling – in fact that’s quite good going to get assays for 2,800m back so quickly.
This raises a few more points.
• To get the results back that quickly indicates to me they are using the labs at Telfer.
• 2 rigs produced 2,800m up to the end of June.
• The report mentions that a third rig had started – therefore there would have been 3 rigs drilling all through July and 4 rigs since August.

If they are using their own labs and the drill rigs are keeping up the same productivity since the start of July then Newcrest must be sitting on a sh*tload of results and data at the moment.

It would seem to me that reddirt was right in his post this week when he said that Newcrest want to amass a massive amount of data together before the next quarterly – I’m sure he won’t mind me quoting his post below

“Newcrest will jump thru lots of hoops as they know Hav is big, and they want to really get a lot of holes in before an announcement to the world ie size and grade...and im talking millions of ounces, well over the do we or dont we mine stuff”

I presume that if NC were to begin to put any infrastructure in the region (roads, electricity, etc) that they would need to apply for permission/permits well in advance - perhaps some of our Aussie posters who are in the know could confirm and keep their respective ears to the ground to listen out for any chatter.

Yes it does look like the duckies are lining up nicely - I guess the increase in the gold price has given NC a bit more wriggle room but they won't have based their negotiations on that - it will be more the fact that they can see the AISC lowering over the near future.

It seems that NC & MacMahon have come to an agreement over the dispute at Telfer with NC increasing the value of the contract going forward - all looking good - maybe MacMahon will be getting the contract to mine and truck the ore from Havieron to Telfer???

Tom – I have no beef with you whatsoever or anyone else on here for that matter – I was merely repeated what was said on the “other” board (and I’m sure most people on here read that one as well so it won’t have come as a surprise).
In hindsight I shouldn’t have mentioned any names and I apologise for any offence – none was intended.

I only try to put what I think may be informative posts on here – after all we are all here for the same reason (hopefully) – to further our knowledge of GGP and what will hopefully be a nice payday for us all.

I didn’t see any of the exchanges prior to HAT’s ban – It was posted that he called some one out and those posts were removed – I am assuming that this was the reason and that’s the only reason that I referenced the fact.

Personally I thought that he made useful posts and had different insights to others which all added to our overall understanding of the situation out in Oz.
Anyway – enough has been made of it now from my perspective and I’m sure I can access his ideas on the “other” board going forward. Apologies again and I hope everyone has a good weekend

Strange also that neither GH or Greatland twitter accounts have not either retweeted or liked the most recent posts from Proactive - usually they are pretty quick to act on any info like this to keep the pr action going.

Seems they are keeping schtum at the moment - would it be anything to do with the new shares that are due to be admitted from next week I wonder????

I was on the train on my phone yesterday when trying to show my calculations so it didn't look great.

Jonathon Guy apparently used the following figures and said it was a cylindrical shape
300m across and 800m deep (from 400 to 1200)

So if we take it very simplistically then volume of a cylinder is pr²h or 3.14 * 150² * 800 = 56,520,000m³

Now if I use the soil conversion factor that GGP used originally - 650,000,000 / 240,000,000 = 2.7

56,520,000m³ * 2.7 = 152,604,000 tonnes of ore

Assume 2g/t - 152,604,000 x 2 = 305,208,000 grams

31.1035grams per troy ounce

305,208,000 grams / 31.1035 = 9,812,657 troy ounces.

Very simplistic but seems to me that they are erring very much on the side of caution.

I work it out as follows if it's a cylinder

300 metres across and 800 metres deep then pi x radius squared x height

3.1415 x 22500 x 800 = 56,547,000 cubic metres

Multiple this by the factor for soil (conservative 2.32) - gives about 131million tonnes by my calculations
