Newcrest don't have to offer anything for Havieron - they will already have 70% of it automatically once they hit they're milestones and if it's as good as we all hope and think then it on its own will be sufficient to keep Telfer going while the other assets are advanced.

The other assets in the area won't be as attractive to other parties as they wouldn't have access to Telfer and would have the massive capex associated with that but WTFDIK.

@redirons - most of mine are held between mine and the missus's SIPPs so I'm not in any rush - ideally I'd love if Havieron was proven up as we hope and GGP held onto their 25/30% from the toll treatment - This could provide a nice steady income for the next 20/30 years for GGP and hopefully they would divi that out to us shareholders.
That might be pie in the sky but that would be my first choice.

I have the remainder in my ISA and I like to think they will be staying in there until we hit double figures!!!!

OK guys - I posted this a long time ago so here it is again for anyone who hasn't seen it. It's a historical report from Newcrest on exploration at Black Hills from 1993.

6. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Exploration to date has defined five separate zones of gold mineralisation in and around the Black Hills Dome. These include the Saddle Reef, Parallel and Eastern zones of possible conformable mineralisation. Small shears have also been identified to contain anomalous gold. Gold has also been discovered at the northern end of the dome associated with intrusive rocks.
Exploration activities during 1993 identified anomalous surface gold mineralisation at Effervescence. This mineralisation is probably associated with the contact between the Puntapunta and Teller Formations.
All of the above factors indicates presence of a gold bearing system at depth. Surface enrichment of gold has been discovered but the lack of beneath surface continuation has been discouraging.
Work for 1994 should include:
1. Compilation of all surface geochemistry
2. Detailed structural mapping of axial planar surfaces
3. Regolith mapping
4. Deep core drilling through the axis of the Dome

The possibility still exists for significant saddle reef style gold mineralisation to occur at depth similar that recently discovered at Telfer.

So reddirt is right when he says that previous owers were of the belief that there was a possibility that it could be like Telfer.
Its interesting that they recommended "Deep core drilling through the axis of the Dome" but from what I can discern from all the historical reports is that this never happened - could it be Havieron all over again???

Thanks for the input - I guess the big unknown at BH is that it seems nobody has ever drilled to the depths that GGP have in this campaign. I agree with both you and Orion10 (Black Cat on HC) that Havieron is the main course but we all like a little dessert every once in a while.

Agree with all your points - what I loved was the way he discussed the advances in block caving that they are trialling and then says " that given our suite of block caving opportunities going forward could rattle off into a number of opportunities to really leverage that technology - so watch that space" Believe me Sandeep we are watching that space intently....

I really appreciate the time you take to keep us up to date and informed - I keep an eye on your posts on the boards and twitter and always find them - shall we say - insightful.

Agreed about Havieron - but we are all inherently greedy I guess so another hit from somewhere - be that Black Hills, Scallywag, Paterson Range East, Firetower, Panorama or even (dare I mention it) Ernest Giles would be the cherry on the icing on the cake.
