Spoke to a few people in Australia about the transport possibilities and all of them without exception reckon it will be trucked on a private haul road and they estimate the cost to be about $10 per ounce.

I doubt it Truckerboy - How much to build another Telfer in the middle of nowhere and then you would have the cost to decommission Telfer also. I think they could haul rocks for a long, long time before they would spend that sort of money IMO.

CB - That's actually my hometown, born & reared in Nenagh. Yeah nice part of the world - got the mountains to one side and it's only about 8 miles to Lough Derg on the River Shannon.

Nice Mike - I was there in the late 80's / early 90's when it earned the title 'stab city' but I always had a ball in there.
Great people - so into there gaelic games, rugby & football - I loved my time there, some cracking pubs too.

Like it SmokeyR - believe it or not I did my electrical apprenticeship in Limerick many moons ago. It's about 25 miles from my hometown in North Tipperary.

I think it's more likely to be 11.30pm tonight. Newcrest released an announcement on Monday about the situation in PNG and I received the email from their investor relations at 11.33pm which is about 8.30am in Melbourne.

I'd say as soon as Newcrest report they've spent the last 6-8 weeks upping the rig count, upping the men in site, drilling countless 1200 - 1600m feel holes and have actually found zero gold and therefore have decided to decommission Telfer....

In other words - it ain't gonna happen.

Hi Stu, I was lucky in some respects as I bought a lot of mine sub 1p after the Newmont fiasco. I've never sold any and have been averaging up every month when my payment goes into both mine and my wife's SIPP's.

I think at one point my average was just under a penny. I guess we're lucky compared to some who have just jumped on but there is plenty of headroom for GGP to carry on delivering the goods here.

Hi Bagpu55 - there isn't a webcast with the quarterly report, it's literally just a pdf report.

If you register with Newcrest Investor Relations they will email you with a copy of the reports at the same time they are issued on the ASX.

Agreed mate and I didn't say they couldn't but it's obviously not as straightforward as investing if it were on the ASX. I've had a rap on the knuckles a couple of times for posting about GGP on the AZY board on HC. They really don't like cross posting on there. If GGP were to have it's own ticker & therefore board on HC I'm sure it would attract a lot more attention than it does now.

Delighted to hear that you are on board here and at a good price - I'm ever so slightly better at about 1.3p.

Yeah - the NCM board is definitely not interested at the moment. There are a couple of other threads on the Artemis (ARV) board and the Antipa (AZY) boards where Havieron is sporadically discussed.
I think the Aussies are a little miffed that they can't get easy access to investing directly in GGP - if it was listed on the ASX they would be all over it like a rash.
