Just to be clear this thread isn't about benefits or migrants so Im hoping it wont attract the right wing amongst us.
Robbie Williams performed in front of 375,000 people over 3 days at Knebworth. He could have just gone into retirement as one of the most successful and coolest male sole artists of his generation. Instead he chose to be remembered as a total **** because once he had achieved all that success he failed to respect his elders.

The Guardian is giving airtime to a historical interview with RS when he says he deliberately clarifies that he has no working class friends. It also gives airtime to his recent slick production saying he will be a leader for all. "I want everyone to have these same opportunities" is his line.

I want prog. div. to mean firm increase in the total payout, that translates into an even higher dividend per share compared to the previous year, because of buybacks. Hard to believe there will be much credibility in them arguing for the same payout meaning progressive because there are less shares in issue.

Mind you, I reach an age to claim state pension in 2034.

I see the drop as entirely down to Ukraine war and deteriorating outlook. I don't regret the buy back at all at these prices. Much better than a one off spaff.

I am very confused by that question. Are you suggesting without a buyback there would be no other interested buyers and the share price will collapse when it ends in mid Sept?

I guess you have to accept that paying NI is an investment for everyone. It's the only way possible that I know of; some will pay more and some will pay less for the same benefit. Those that pay more have ample other rewards in the long run.

Anyone can deny something. Only a very few people can produce peer reviewed academic literature. That is the best evidence we have. It's that simple.
There isn't much point in me trying to influence you as I don't believe you are open to any other way of thinking. But for the record, my view is the worldwide evidence telling us of environmental degradation, resource depletion, species loss and global warming are all real. I also believe that it requires a response from us that that is not just "more of the same".
It's a question of whether or not you get the idea that it's not all just for us, but also for those we hand it on to.
