May I suggest that if you don't understand the stock market and how it works , that you do not invest until you do !
That includes understanding the UT (closing price) at the end of the day.

I am trying to help you.
At the close (4.30pm) the stock goes into auction. The buys and sells during the trading period are "matched " and a closing price is set ! that is the UT - the closing price !
NOT blooody shorts closing. I have not got time to argue with people who don't want to learn. I can see why J2 gave upon some of you guys.
The runningman - yes you pilchard the trades from all of the day.

The UT is not a real trade. It is NOT a buy or sell ! it is just the books being balanced at the close (end of the day).
Think of it like a shop cashing up the till at the end of the day.
this is the definition;
"An uncrossing trade is where buyers on the bid and sellers on the ask match together in a single trade at the end of a trading period. The uncrossing trade shows up with the trade code “UT” on the London Stock Exchange".
Normally just after the close. thus balancing the books.

In addition to US rigs falling, the International picture is also "hotting-up". Or should I say cooling down !

International Rigs were also well down this week too. Down -144 rigs.
International Total now down to only 915 rigs , first time below a thousand .
The weekly decline in US rigs was just over 10% for a week. However International was nearer to a 15% fall. Yes you can "iron-out" the odd percentage point difference. In summary, What you can see though is that the International picture of rig decline is actually the same as the rate of US rig decline. I think we may get more supply coming off-line than the market is expecting !
Interesting times.

Brent is over $27 , IF this holds for the London Stock Market opening then we could be seeing our share price rise again for yet another day !

And nearly all of it rubbish.
None of them know the history behind VAL, indeed one clown had to ask who Suzy was !

Hardly any shares available on the market , that must be why?
Only 15m shares in total and the Directors hold many of them.
Could this company be one of the few to benefit in these times ? Health and safety advice - could be.

The UT is an un-crossing trade used by the mm's to balance their books and set the closing price of a stock.
It is NOT a real trade , however it is the closing price for the day !

Some large "off book" trades are not reported to the next day , so there could have been a large trade that promted the sudden fall in the share price or perhaps the mm's are just playing games. The opening price tomorrow will give you your answer.

With respect you are a newbie to VAL.
I know all their history.
I have had them on my watchlist for years. indeed I posted here in the times of the late John Gilchrist years ago.
I have traded VAL a few times over the years. i.e. Purchased and sold in a few days or weeks. About 2 years ago I was very lucky, yes lucky to buy a large amount at 1p and sell out between 3.5p to 4.5p a few weeks later. The rise actually went up to 7p, so could have made more if I waited. In the last year I have had 2 very small trades both had stop loss triggers at a 10% loss.
For me I see VAL as a possible "trade" and not an "investor" share.
Bankfool asks why I am interested - Well;
If you once had a season ticket to see a football team you were interested in , would you still watch them on the telly if next year you did not have a season ticket ? maybe some people would eh ! - Same with VAL for me.

No value to-date as NO big pharma is backing any compounds.
VAL have stated previously that they have been talking to them for many years. YET no partner deals to take the compounds to market. Yep I think they have no value today and am supported by the fact that no one else (pharma co) has put any money in !
As for the future value ? It depends if they work and that is not proven yet !
Eyeguy - how much do you trust the previous Directors ?
Will they give up control and just walk away from their high paid jobs ? Is there some other way they can keep a salary from VAL. Consultants to the new Director maybe for 6 months or a year ? etc etc

I do not believe these compounds have any value. It is just my belief and gut feel.
The only people to put money behind them has been shareholders. Why has not one pharma company been interested in partnering VAL to take one of the compounds to market.Someone give me a credible reason for this please ! Why did the Directors not buy large shareholding in VAL. Surely if you knew you had a winner you would buy bucket loads of shares. Crickey they earnt enough in wages. No they had a small holding , less than many on here. I will not invest in an AIM company unless the Directors combined hold at least 10% of the stocks.
NO, I see this as a gravy train which has gone on far to long. Maybe it will end soon or maybe it will continue. We shall see.

Bankfool and his money are soon parted ! I will not be taking trusting anyone with "fool" or "bank" in their avatars name. OR any link to animals. Some investors here are losers because they don't understand some of the vital boxes that need ticking before you invest in an AIM company.

My hope and dreams with VAL was dashed some time ago. Now I am concerned about the compounds. As Elvis sang - We can't go on together with suspicious minds. We can't build our dreams on ...........
