RE: Next quarterly figures...and some other thoughts.09 Apr 2020 18:54
Very busy with parcel here also. Every day is Christmas. No idea how it will effect the bottom line though. Really keen on the social distancing now also. I'm off next week also and have been buying a few bits on line that I would normally get from b &q . Maybe lots off people are buying stuff for DIY and hobbies whilst they have all this fee time and can't go out. I think we might see 200p a share by may.
Expert on the radio said that it's not possible to test specifically for covid-19 just for coronavirus it general of which there are several strains including the common cold. Not sure where that leaves us.

People die all the time because the government won't pay for drugs to save their lives, suddenly they have found that magic money tree. Very few people will be saved by delaying this and many more will die in a major recession. Some countries, Sweden for example are taking a different approach. Let's see what happens their compared to here.

I'm not supportive of older people dying I'm being realistic. As Fruitster said, a recession will kill more people than cancelling the lockdown. I'm in my late 50' s and I would take the gamble to save my country and the life of someone young.

Almost everyone will be infected. There's no escape. The government are trying to slow it down so less will die but they are doing it at the expense of the economy. What if they just said everybody back to work. How many extra people would die 50k, 100k? They keep calling it a war so maybe those extra people should sacrifice themselves for their country. Most will be old and sick anyway. Whereas over 700k sacrificed their lives for this country in WW1 and they were young men with their lives ahead of them.
