The pro rata might be for actual hours worked. Or if you had one day off would you get nothing.
Domestic turkeys would only live 2 or 3 years if they weren't killed at Christmas so if the choice was Christmas or no Christmas in other words, live half a life or never exist at all, then turkeys would vote for Christmas because without Christmas they would not be bred at all.
if you went a year without going sick you got a chance of winning a car. Although I couldn't understand how the chance of winning a car stopped one from becoming ill? What it implied was " we know you are taking the **** but if you stop you might win a car".
I totally disagree. I know some people who have regular sick absence, sometimes several weeks at a time, sometimes a couple of days a week for several weeks. Some who regularly do an hour then sign out. At least 40 people in my mail centre are on covid related sick ever though they don't have symptoms and are still getting paid. It's the same faces over and over but for some reason they get away with it. The rules might be there but they aren't applied.
Spot on OliG, still some in my mail centre that do little work and start late and finish early. It's very bad for moral. When they are challenged they threaten legal action or go sick with stress until management back off. That's why RM will never be a decent business.
We have a psm at my mail centre but due to the various shapes, sizes and packaging material most parcels still have to be hand sorted. For example I saw a car tyre, a roll of bubble wrap and a pair of ear studs yesterday. Much of our parcels are handed over the post office counter, Amazon items come in nice regular shaped boxes. Just like letters, we end up with all the uneven and poorly addressed stuff that won't go through a machine. I was told by my mail centre manager that we lose £36 on every york of oversized parcels that we process
But Mike, who would deliver the 10 billion letters a year?
Property? They use the property, it's not standing idle.
It wasn't such a bad deal for RM if you look at the deal they got on our pension.
They describe it as a small part of the business and have the cost of a second unit to cover so I wouldn't think online will be producing much profit. Reading between the lines of the last update, they are losing money but have it well covered. The recent decline in the SP is due to a overhang of shares coming from somewhere imho. They should be opening some stores shortly but how many customers will be returning is an unknown. It depends upon how things go with the virus which from my research isn't good and why I'm not investing in anything at the moment. Looking at previous virus pandemics one usually gets a second third and fourth wave as the virus mutates which is much worse that the first. Government have now admitted that this is something that we will probably have to learn to live with which unfortunately means the death toll will be many multiples of what it has been so far. Some very dark days ahead.
They didn't finish the num they finished coal mining. The difference is that parcels are booming .
They just tried to smash the union and got their arses kicked.
