Given that the more severe and permanent reactions might be less frequent than 1 in 100,000 (I suspect anything permanent would make it past the approval process), but this is 'new' at least in part, in reality it'll be a tweak to something existing. Given the rate above then you'd be looking at paying out to 600-700 people across the UK, had this been available at the start of the pandemic it could have saved 40,000 people, and a huge cost to the economy and therefore tax bills in the future, so even if you gave them all £1M + 100k a year for life it'll be cheap, very cheap compared to anything else we've done.

I don't see that the vaccine will be any worse than any other vaccine with regards to adverse effects, and lets face it you can get adverse effects from paracetamol, or even peas. So the risk of death or life changing injuries is minimal, but the benefit to the public at large for Covid is large, given the number of asymptomatic carriers, so you''ll be protecting yourself with a very very very small chance of taking one for the team, and being compensated for it.

The logic that no capability = no extension a few months ago is sound, so therefore there is something here interesting enough for the extension.
The logic that if there were to be no deal then that would have been announced by Eli already, and therefore they are working on the deal (again Eli wouldn't bother working on it if there was no benefit in the tech to them) is also sound.
So now the question is will the deal be material? Now they may negotiate hard, they may not, can't imagine them just throwing money around like water, but practically anything will be a huge endorsement, and with our current Mcap will be significant.
If it is a small deal, you can bet that there will be limited exclusivity clauses, and the endorsement will bring other clients. The journey may be slower but we'll still be making progress. If this is really big news to Eli then the deal will be better and progress quicker.
Either way I can't see how this cannot be positive in the near future, I don't think i'm deluding myself.

If you don't like it, then walk. There are synergys between the two companies from a technology angle and not just to share back office costs. So what is created will have better chance of growing. The consolidation, I see it as being a handy time to do it, I don't buy the penny shares problem, their Mcap is more likely to be an issue to iis, but I'm only handling my money not other people's. I see at as neutral to positive, and the merger as positive.

You should write to those managing the testing and let them know that it's important that you have news now, not when it's ready but now. I'm sure they'll push the schedule a bit to make it work.

They haven't made huge strides in a short amount of time, the strides have been building for a long time, this is just a period of the culmination of those strides, it's important to understand that years of effort has gotten us to now. It's not like they discover something every other month.

Gjbrandon, I hesitate to use the name of that company, and didn't want to on Twitter, but it seems to me that you could be very close to what they were after via a different and better path given the right sensing elements. Good luck to you in whatever paths you take, very interested in where you end up as a company.

My opinion, is that the solutions that could become available would create an Mcap of 2bn or more, £100m of profit could take them to 2bn, or a takeover, even if just to prevent others from using it. The share price falls out from that.

That's my thought on the matter, not a recommendation, not a pump, just a statement that we have a product and technology that is being proven to work, seems to be niche, has a demand in the otherwise untreatable, and could be disruptive to the current treatment mechanisms, all that sounds like a potentially big deal.

Newbie (not meaning to be insulting with that). £5 is the equivalent to the historic £10 in terms of Mcap as the number of shares increased. So the question is do you think that this would only be worth the £600m Mcap if the tests come off? Personally if the tests work then a £600m Mcap is low, so personally I think £5 is low.

Newbie, why did you buy them? What do you understand about their potential?

Ask yourself how long would it take to administer a vaccine to (nearly) everyone on the planet, how long does immunity last for? How long would it take to create the billions of doses needed? I'm my opinion it's at least a couple of years, and during that time you'd want to control the sickness amongst the non vaccinated.
