Did you think they'd be free? Avacta was aiming for a more expensive test, in my opinion I see a massive gov subsidy, if it stops furlough payments, allows normal levels of corp and personal tax to be collected then it'll be cost neutral at worst and nett positive at best.

Think that was my question, but a flourecence detector, a laser, a chip to as apply the ai rules, all not that expensive, all solid state, all able to bed mass produced. I see £200-300 once in mass production. Which compared to an lfd is expensive, but over the longer term is cheaper.

Let's say it could be made for 1k with margins, and was multi user, so the gov could supply each household, that'll cost 20-30bn, is that less than the most taxes personal and corporate, and the increased benefits bill? I'd suggest it's a close call, and probably has a 12 to 18 month payback at the outside.
