How can you compare an iconic producing car company to SXX, a mining company that needed £Bn's of funding and was years off from producing a product with an unknown demand? This is just fear mongering and I take solace from the desperation of the shorts. They have a hell of a lot of shares to buy back...
As far as analysts are concerned they like receiving brown envelopes and everything they say will be for the benefit of those supplying the brown envelopes. Investors should do their own research and buy with their own conviction. There is certainly a lot of rubbish being written on this board....

Don't particularly have a good track record with car manufacturers do they. Does anybody remember what happened when they shorted VW. How much did they collectively loose, I seem to remember is was in the region of $18Bn. I think a few came of the worst with shorting Tesla too. Lets hope they have the same fate here.

You must be picking the wrong shares Itsaponzi. I did rather well with Laird when I took up the rights there. I take comfort that you think the shares will fall to 27...

I think there is a bit of confusion here regarding the sale of the new shares. They have been tradable since they were issued into stock trading accounts and have been in mine for over a week... I know because I offloaded some last week in the 70s. I am buying them back now.

Bad luck Poker. It wasn't easy picking them up under 100 but at least I got a decent slice under 120. Like I said this was way oversold...

This is way oversold. I can't help but feel that this is being held back for a potential offer. We shall have to wait and see but I can't think of a better time for Ray to put in a bid whilst the shares are down at these levels. If he doesn't have a go in the next six months I doubt he will at all.
I doubt Debenhams was much competition to TED in all fairness.

Only 45m shares in issue. Ray has 35% and Tosca 17% surely not too far away from a move by them with the shares at these low levels...

She is probably a perfect fit if Ray decides to come back. He must be licking his lips at the moment with the share price decline and if rumours are true about him wanting to take the company private surely this is the best possible time as he would pick it up for a lot less than a couple of months ago.

Have reduced their short position to 0.59% from 0.69%. They will probably take advantage of the recent fall and buy back the rest of their position. They still have a few million shares to buy back.

Re Liberum - They had a sell on LMI last year with a price target of 15p. I bought a lot in the 40s and sold 70% for the equivalent of 170. If they hadn't been taken over they probably would have gone to about 300+.
The broker recommendations are usually put out to serve their paymasters aka hedge funds or potential buyers/sellers.

I think the share price will be a bit higher than 173p once coronavirus is under control. If Ray decides to buy 'his' company back I am sure it will be higher than 173. How do these brokers come up with their price targets. Their previous targets in the £30s look just as ridiculous as 173...

Lets Try - If we still have C19 patients in any great quantities in 12 months time we are all buggered... I have been a holder here for some time and I continue to add. If you think SPI are in for a torrid time wouldn't it be prudent just to sell and invest in something else instead because that's what I do if I don't have much faith in a company going forward. The question is who will be helping the NHS with the backlog of procedures. SPI, unfortunate for some will be quite busy... At least the market seem to think so today.

I have a good holding here too and I am confident there is light at the end of the tunnel. One has to remember that if Mediclinic are still interested in taking full ownership of Spire there is probably not going to be a better opportunity as right now to have a go.

This has been oversold. Investors are very short sighted as the potential backlog of procedures will keep SPI at full capacity in the coming years. Worst case scenario here is that in the next few months they will break even. I bet most companies wish they were in a similar predicament.
