The unfortunate thing is that in my experience the BOD's will save their own necks and the shareholders come last on the list. Maybe if they suspended work the politicians would get their act together. The hedge funds would bugger off as it wouldn't be worth their while hanging on. At least this would give hope to long term shareholders rather than use the remaining cash up within the next 6 months and have no bargaining position. The mine is viable and has the potential to be extremely profitable and it would be sad to see the long term shareholders not being able to benefit as they have put their money and faith in this venture.

The Uk Government in 2008 gave $850 billion for a bank rescue package and currently gives circa £14 billion in foreign aid yet they can't give a guarantee of £1 billion to a FTSE 250 company... This is a disgrace.

A lot of the larger buys have been O trades hence not taken off the order book. The majority of the sells have been A trades which are taken off the book. Hence the share price can be manipulated down using small size A sell trades (10,000 and less) and at the same time larger O buy trades (50,000 +) which do not move the price higher.

There seems to be a lot but they are O trades rather than the sells that are mostly A trades. Typical corruption... If the O trade buys were going off the book this would be higher. It's shocking how this practise is allowed. This is absolutely crooked.

Competitors in the fertiliser market want Sirius Minerals to fail as it will have a big impact on them. It serves their purpose to bung journalists for negative press etc. They don't stop there, one only has to look at the negativity posted here. If they fail to sell all of the bonds they will come to the shareholders for a rights issue to fund the remainder. As a shareholder what would you want to do, see the project fail and write off your whole investment or add a bit more to see the share price rise to multiples of the current price?

This is a process to let the hedge funds out with a massive profit. It is disgraceful how the financial system works but when the company announces they have secured funding the share price will be back into the 20s imho. There is a lot of negative noise here at the moment and the best course of action if you have any doubts is to remind yourselves why you bought in the first place.

Mediclinic didn't engage with the SPI bod before making their previous offer so I doubt they will in future if they decide to place another bid. The order book is being worked in the same way Laird and Cobham were before the bids were placed for them by Advent. Interesting to see if Advent intend on bidding for SPI, after all they already have a stake. The question is, if they do bid what will Mediclinic do?

The rejection of the Mediclinic offer was a serious misjudgement from the Spire bod in hindsight but they obviously believed the company was worth more and thought that Mediclinic would up their offer as they had already paid 360 per share for a 30% stake. I still believe an offer will come in due course and will just wait it out.

Have nearly done selling. When they have finished selling I expect a bit of a bounce up as others like Odey will hoover up stock at these low levels.

The Government should come out and back this company as they are the ones harping on about the northern powerhouse. This project is going to be a lot more productive than a rail line. It will create thousands of jobs directly and indirectly. The company will be export driven and create vast tax revenue and profits for uk shareholders of which there are many. What does the Government want to do at the end of the day? Make a few rich foreign hedge fund managers even richer and make a lot of people lose jobs and create more wealth destruction for UK shareholders. This could get very interesting. The hedge funds have been vultures since the UK referendum result and there should be a ban on it before there won't be a market left...

The UK Govnt. should put the $500m at say 13% to get this underway. They win as they will be getting a decent return until 2027 and from 2021 will be raking in huge amounts of tax. These types of projects are the future of the UK not spending ridiculous amounts on projects like HS2. Projects like this will create the northern powerhouse...

This is very fishy indeed. It wouldn't surprise me that the Brokers have advised Sirrius to pull out in order for their friends (shooters) to get out before the potential rise when funding gets under way...

That should read, I wouldn't be surprised for Odey to buy more.

Odey has been buying. He is renowned for shorting so I expect with this latest news the shares will rise and others will no doubt follow Odey's moves. I would be surprised for him to purchase quite a bit more. It won't be long before Pelham have sold their remaining stock.

For balance - The same broker was reported in the Financial Times that he thought the shares would recover to £12 on the back of the launch of the DBX... So he is clearly not all doom and gloom.

I kept faith in Lonmin when others namely brokers said they had no future. The current price here looks like a good risk reward so I have started to buy. The recent broker down grade with high selling afterwards was most probably a set up and I wouldn't be surprised to see journalists denigrate PDL to scare off potential investors so the shorts can get out. Varda Shine was also on the Board of Lonmin. If Sibanye were to bid it would be an all share offer, larger institutions would most probably vote in favour as it minimises risk imho.

There are similarities here with Lonmin. Brokers highlighting debt but not focusing on assets. There was a certain broker whom constantly trashed Lonmin and at one point gave them a 15p target about a year ago, they have since been taken over by Sibanye and are at the equivalent price of 107p. I wouldn't be surprised if Sibanye puts a bid in here as Froneman wants to be the next Anglo American.

I think it's just a matter of time before we have an offer here. The question is if they go in soon or wait for Brexit to happen.

This was set up for a takeover. The price should be closer to £2.00 per share.
