Thu, 26th Jun 2025 18:22

(Alliance News) - Topps Tiles PLC on Thursday said it has appointed Alex Jensen as its new chief executive officer as chief financial officer Stephen Hopson heads to Marston's PLC.

The Leicestershire, England-based tile retailer said Jensen will join the business as CEO designate on September 15. Departing CEO Rob Parker will remain in post until "towards the end of the year," allowing for an "orderly transfer of responsibilities".

Jensen was most recently CEO of National Express UK, Ireland & Germany and has previously led BP PLC's retail and business-to-business fleet services, as divisional CEO and global chief marketing officer.

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Alex as the new CEO of the group. Alex brings extensive retail, multi-site and digital experience as well as a proven record of value creation. I am confident that Alex will be instrumental in helping us deliver our goal of Mission 365, creating value for all stakeholders," said Chair Paul Forman.

Topps Tiles confirmed that CFO Stephen Hopson will be leaving the business to join Marston's as its new CFO.

Mike Killick has been appointed as interim CFO and will work with Hopson to ensure an "orderly succession" before his departure on September 3.

Killick was previously CFO at Pod Point Group Holdings PLC and Restore PLC.

Topps Tiles said the search for a pemanent CFO will be led by Jensen and will start in due course.

Shares in Topps Tiles closed down 2.0% at 35.20 pence in London on Thursday.
