The FTSE Small Caps Index and the FTSE AIM All ShareIndex both rise by 0.1 percent in mid-session trade,outpacing a fall of 0.7 percent on the blue-chip FTSE 100 index and a 0.1 percent decline on the FTSE 250 mid-cap index, which hit record highs earlier this month.
Kitchenware and cooking group AGA Rangemaster rises4.6 percent after posting higher interim revenues and statingthat it expects more growth for the full-year.
"With evidence of recovering consumer confidence andincreasing housing activity in the run up to the peak season,especially in North America, AGA looks well placed as momentumbuilds going into H2," N+1 Singer write in a research note,keeping a "buy" rating on the stock.
Engineering solutions group Pressure Technologies jumps 12.3 percent after winning some new contracts worth acombined sales value of 4.6 million pounds ($7.21 million).
Energy group New World Oil & Gas falls 20.5 percentafter announcing a 2.1 million share placing to raise $25million.
