Just Eat scores after striking extended deal with UEFA until 2027

Mon, 12th Feb 2024 10:25

(Alliance News) - Shares in Just Eat Takeaway.com NV on Monday rose after it extended its partnership with UEFA, strengthening its presence across Europe's largest football tournaments.

Shares in Just Eat jumped 6.3% to 1,322.49 pence in London on Monday morning.

The Amsterdam-based food delivery ordering platform said it was extending its partnership with the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Europa Conference League until 2027, bringing the total number of UEFA competitions the business supports to 11.

Sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Futsal Champions League and UEFA Youth League are included in the three year agreement.

Just Eat said on UEFA match days during the 2022-23 season, it sold enough pizzas to fill an average sports stadium 200 times, with customers in the UK placing the highest number of orders.

Susan O’Brien, vice president brand at Just Eat said: "The partnership continues to deliver fantastic results for our brand, driving visibility, recognition and positive perceptions of Just Eat Takeaway.com across our markets globally".

Just Eat became the sponsors of the UEFA men's club competitions and the women's competitions in 2021 after being awarded the sponsorship contract for UEFA Euro 2020.

Just Eat also has the contract for all women’s competitions, which covers five competitions, lasting until 2025 and under a different contracting cycle.

UEFA – the Union of European Football Associations – is the governing body of European football and the umbrella organisation for 55 national associations.
