Standard Life gained approximately 3% over the past month, hitting new 52-week highs. Positive momentum follows a strategic rebrand from Phoenix Group and a better-than-forecast adjusted operating profit. Analysts project continued growth, with sentiment suggesting the company is firmly on track to meet its 2026 financial targets and deliver substantial excess cash.

JPMorgan now has a TP of 950…..highest I can find at present.

While the TP is not immediately relevant it does suggest JPM has a strong confidence in the company prospects (or maybe it wants a new mandate).

Very volatile since last look and a name change .

I had Standard life which I thought were taken over by Aberdeen .

654p on 23rd March , now back above my last slice price .

The tec guys wrong in December .

Sliced a tranche at 725p , the rebuy 31/1/22 at 660p.

Hit 715p target and wanted some cash .

Company Overview

Phoenix is the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business with c. £300 billion of assets under administration and c. 12 million customers.

100% strong buy with tec guys .

There will be many a catastrophe in the waiting to take an advantage in trading this IMHO

The SP for 26 is enhanced by the hope the Aegon deal is a good one…and it likely is.

The market day in Q4 when they lay out their plans in more detail will be more significant than the 2026 Financial results which will largely exclude the deal benefits but will include many of the costs, so the headlines in March next year may look worse than they are…..the market will largely look through that, but the press will not.

A strategy I will be considering is to sell into the optimism post Q4 market day and buy back after the ‘disappointing’ results.
