Aviva 8 3/8% Pf Share Price (AV.B)

Am I missing something? At this price the yield is 7.38%. Okay, if base rate rises again, then this could drop a little bit more in value. However, once interest rates settle down at a lower level, this preference share will continue to pay out a nice div with also the prospect of a bit of capital appreciation. A pretty safe holding in my view.

These jumped 4 1/2p at the death today. Is that correct or is the uncrossed trade at 129p the reason ? Very nice if they are 129p now !

Whatever the bank interest may go up to, I very much doubt we shall see 6% on deposit accounts.
I feel good about the AV.B shares delivering, at current share price 112p, close on 7.5% dividend.
Imagine banks paying that sort of interest, imagine what will happen to mortgage rates and house
prices, not to mention an apocolyptic meltdown of the conomy.

When you have inflation at10% all you can say is that historically Prefs should be much cheaper but in the past % rates were much higher with this sort of inflation but now we are unsure how far the central banks will allow rate rises to avoid deep recession. So at the moment uncertainty as to the value of Prefs. There may be not be much more downside due to good yield in good companies but as said it will depend on inflation trend and central bank decisions at the moment this is affecting sentiment with some selling and some averaging in!

Can anyone please explain why the selling of this stock continues even at below 125p whilst the dividend/fixed interest works out at 6.75% 'interest' at currnt price of 124p a share invested. Not a total defence against inflation, but goind a fair towards protecting capital.
