You deranged feck wit, I make a tongue and cheek reply asking if it was the director you spoke too, as all the staff I have come across in the stores have trouble actually responding to basic questions, who wouldn’t know who Dean Hoyle was if he kicked them up the ar,e, you then ramble on about him being the founder when it was actually Card he founded, and please don’t get me even started on your latest post hahahaha, I concur my original thoughts, you really are a half wit.
Pmsl
I will always respect your words RoxH but I didn't even start this thing.
I wrote a post about a store visit I made and relayed precisely what the Mgr told me from the memos and discussions he had with the people from Head Office once lockdown was over and he opened his store
Smarty pants here makes a sarky comment about my findings stating in one way or another that my words couldn't be believed.
I am thinking maybe he doesn't have the interpersonal skills to strike up a healthy conversation with people to gain the confidence and trust to impart such information. It seems my conviction on him is true as a couple of users have sent me messages to ignore him - as apparently he has a degree in being an arse on here.
That opinion further backed up by your comment that he is not a reasonable man.
I won't apologise Rox but if you can somehow sort out a place where me and him can meet up then I would welcome such an opportunity.
Ha ha Couldn't make it up. There’s only 3 of us here and 2 have fell out.
Truth is you are both actually good posters who got off on the wrong foot so how about one of you handing out the olive branch and saying sorry?
PurpleInvestor you do it because I think your more reasonable than Smorty ha ha
Half Wit you have filtered me, you can’t see/read my intellectual post.
"Insiders buying, just the kick this needed..."
Aren't you the arse who took the **** out of me when I wrote about my visit to my local Harrow branch of WRKS and spoke to the manager who said the messages from Head Office is that it was all positive - no redundancies or cutbacks and that in fact they are starting new lines and stores will get a new refresh .... Of course you are... so maybe some from Head Office buying a load of shares is also bull**** too !!! ******
Insiders buying, just the kick this needed.
I am invested in all 3 - although SZ is my highest by far. But I like the fact that its a family business - well managed and never in debt. Remember my side bet with you tho - that my Cineworld will reach 90p before Card. I just hope in a year we are both happy and I think with retail footfall and online sales booming I cant see a reason why we wont be.
Hi PI got to confess I sold my SZ shares today. Lost £500 in a week but put it back in Card where I took it from which had lost the same anyway so straight swap. I like SZ because of the reviews which are brilliant but I kid you not there is literally nobody ever in the shop when I pass by and I mean ever so be careful.
In complete contrast The Works and CF are always really really busy.
Yup all looks good - Hope ur well RoxH - that news about the US accepting doubled jabbed Britons was something we needed to gain that big momentum push that we are heading the right way. Everyone in retail is reporting the same kind of message - just below pre-pandemic levels but rising - which is good.
I don't post my mystery shopper reports on here I am afraid due to the odd sad ****** on lse who is probably lost his money but still can't stop popping at others who are doing ok.
Encouraging.

"On the basis that nothing untoward occurs and restrictions are not put back in place, it appears to be a reasonable expectation that by the end of the year footfall will be just 10% to 15% below the pre-pandemic level."
blocked the pussy.
pompous ass-hole
Followed your lead and called in the Truro store, not being a local it was a bit hard to understand the pony tailed 18 yo spotty youth on the till, but think the gist of it was for 2021,
EBITDA 32M
EBIT 3 M
Operating profit 1M
Norm Pre Tax -35M
Reported Pre Tax -3M
Norm EPS - 5.76
Norm EPS Growth 0
Not sure what all that means but he did sell me a very interesting book on tractors.
Aye Roxbury, his feedback seems to be that its all positive and nothing worrying about. I thought I would follow your example and visit stores and ask managers and retail staff on how things are going for my retail stocks.
Its a shame some of the idiots here have to make a mockery of what I came away with.
Good post PurpleInvestor. Yes I have complete faith in Wrks I think our money is safe here. The shops are always busy and once they finally sell all those jigsaw puzzles with missing pieces I think the reviews will improve also.
ahh-sole
Yes I know the one, he was the one with Hoyle when he Founded Card.
No it was his brother.
Was the manager called Gavin Peck ????
Bit the bullet and with me heavy in many retail high street stocks I popped into my local Works in Harrow Town centre. Bought a book first to keep the coffers ticking over and then spoke to the manager and said I was heavily invested and like the company and what his opinion was as we come out of lockdown. He said your money is safe nothing to worry about. The footfall is nearly at pre-pandemic levels. Also memos from head office was that the online sales were booming and off the scale whilst we were in lockdown and now coming out of it. He told me that the Harrow store even had a new re-fit just two weeks ago which was a surprise to him, The company has stated there is no redundancies and its business as usual. Worryingly my book was half the sale price when I got to the counter and asked him about that. He said they want to get rid of all stock and are discounting heavy as they need the shelves for new lines to go with the refit at Harrow. My last words were about D Hoyle and me stating that him leaving was a sign to me that things may not be going well with the company and he therefore stepped down. . The manager said it has nothing to do with the business, the business is fine - they have been told he is sadly in poor health and he wants to spend time with his family and thus stepped down. He had a serious pancreatic illness a couple of years ago and was in hospital for a long time and it seems his health has taken a dip again. Sad news for a good man who was spoken highly of by the manager. Apart from the health news of the founder with regards to the business he said the company hardly has any debt, is re-fitted and energising not just the store frontage but also the product lines. His parting words were 'thank god for the internet and thank god that with the lockdown over the customers are also coming into the store and buying stuff'
I had to buy some CARD so I had a vested interest to visit the CARD forum on lse.com and read your wonderful insights on how the 4 Card Stores in your area are doing from your reconnaissance of how many customers are entering the shops and their purchasing habits. I hope to hear of plenty of balloons being bought from your observations as they have large profit margins... ha ha
