Good sp for the buyers and adders. I’m adding yet again.
Yes, there's always these downs (or ups) you can't see a reason for. Usually they come good and were opportunities. I now try not to react on the day, but it's been astonishing to me the difference 2 or 3 top ups/slices a year - while keeping a core holding - makes in these volatile AIM shares. Even when you're a complete and utter amateur.
Topped up with what I could find. Grateful.
Stiefel above said "we remain attracted to Volex's end-market drivers, with the benefit of both improving core demand plus the structural change in the electrical vehicle (EV) market and the new opportunities in defence and off-highway." People are raising questions about EV's sometimes now, environmental issues of battery production, range, etc, but my guess is that a whole lot of people who've bought them and made them work would never, ever, go back to dirty slow old petrol.
It's always hard not to panic when the price is dropping off a cliff but I think we'd all have been delighted at this sp a few months ago. It's always good to step back and take a longer view for some perspective. I know I would do a lot better if I only checked my stocks once per month.
It’s had a good run and these ledges of profit taking happen, funny old market lately when you look at THG, Novacyt etc and the P/E those are on. This will come back step by step pretty quickly. Brokers have it rated 560p from memory and that’s before these improved numbers. The £650m with £65m Ebit by 2024 will be exceeded by the Management Team for sure. At these prices Vlx is a strong buy.
Doubled my holding. :-).
Buys sells even more or less this tells me that there is no reason for the drop just people getting a bit nervous and following the herd .
Been buying all the way up and couldn't resist some more here.
Good results, recent acquisitions, more to come.
I dare this share to drop more, (please) good buying opp. Buy going down not up. :-).
It's not great, but if I got a Volex share for every webinar which I listened too which had audio problems I would be a rich man.
Repairman on his way, should have the show back on the road and motoring towards a fiver in jig time
Anyone else watching this car crash?
Great results - increased revenue and profits. Dealing with the supply chain issues well and integrating the companies they recently acquired successfully - what's not to like. It is a 'Hold' for me. DYOR

There is a 61.8% fib level at £3.90 so I would guess there are a lot of buy orders down there affecting the price.

WORKING WELL
* Outlook maintained
Stifel view: This is a pleasing set of results, with strength in revenue and margin performance against a tough backdrop. A return to more normalised trading patterns in Complex Industrial Technology is understandable, and we believe this business has strong potential going forward. The company is clearly managing the supply chain issues well plus integrating acquisitions. These acquisitions are supported by the company's revolving credit facility of $70m (plus $30m accordion) and we would not rule out further deals in due course, as the company looks to deliver on average c.10% pa top-line growth from acquisitions. Managing growth and keeping costs down in an inflationary market while integrating acquisitions is not straightforward, and the COVID-19 pandemic has brought its own demand dynamics. However, we remain attracted to Volex's end-market drivers, with the benefit of both improving core demand plus the structural change in the electrical vehicle (EV) market and the new opportunities in defence and off-highway. The company retains its target to deliver $650m in revenues and $65m in underlying operating profit by 2024.
Usual shenanigans by the market manipulators running the stops to drive the price down. They have been doing it all week. I have topped up this morning so will have to watch this space. Perhaps try a buy order at £4
Here we go again, great results SP drops. At the moment seems to happen every time
Very happy with the results and the sp drop so will be adding . I’m taking the view of it being a long game share. I think this companies revenue/ profits will snowball over the next 18 months. :-).
Thanks, still learning the game
The scenario you describe is not uncommon. High expenses and write downs off the top line, leaves "adjusted" earnings much lower.
Don’t understand that drop. Sometimes the market really makes you think your research is way off. Looks like a solid company, great results but it’s fallen 13%! Already down from 470ish WTF
Maybe I'm missing something but what in that RNS merits a 10% drop in the sp?
Happy to be invested here for sure. Looking forward to the near 10% increase in the dividend. And the possibility of much more in the future.
I have a question for the more knowledgeable among us!
If we have Revenue /Profit etc etc before and after tax in the high 20%/30% and higher why is the earning per share growth down in the 9%/10% territory? I'm not complaining.......
Impressive results and without global supply chain difficulties suspect NR would have guided towards beating FY expectations.
+210% Electric Vehicle growth and impressive gains across almost all business and financial metrics. Year ahead looks strong, and dividend raised.
Because of the timing that’s as good as a positive trading update to me … I hope I’m right! I’ll find out tomorrow ..GLA
