Guys whats going on with this company.. Im a total novice please forgive my ignorance.. has the share trading been suspended...whats happening in December I bought in a few months ago thanks to I.C..I rarely check my holdings... Cheers. S
Ok so 15 December is "D" day. Company did well under Mr Ellis, but is doing well now. L'essez faire springs to mind, and I would rather be a shareholder in an openly owned entity, rather than a family dominated one. At least the indecision will disappear on 15 December, and I suspect a rise to over 1 soon, or nearer that date. GLA
Nice movement up of 2.50p early morning, with good side trades, looking encoraging
Yep but I bought in two lots so now one lot is showing a profit. I am relaxed about holding these despite the board room spat....No reward without risk..
spindok 89p +2.50p slowly you are getting closer to .... over the water It happens when you buy it to high, but looking good now
Despite my dividends I am still under water though..
from Paul Scott on Stockopedia 'I don't normally invest in contracting companies these days, as so often something goes wrong. Having said that, this share is starting to look very cheap. With a reasonable trading update today, it could be worth a closer look. I'm starting to get tempted!'
Agreed Rich. The one division clearly needs some improvement, but the others are performing very well and more than compensate. I think the events since admittance to AIM have been unfortunate for this company and over time will trade at a much higher multiple than this.
Absolutely agree! Mot cap at 80p is £63.9m from company making around £10.8m profit. Daft! Gla Rich ps just bought some more!
The PE ratio is rather silly. I can't see anyone voting him back in. You see it all the time, the guy just can't let go.
Bottom line seems fine....but golly gee I just wanted to invest in a nice boring company and instead I've put money in bloody Family Ties.
What the market will read in to that. Will likely have a true picture nearer 10-00 am than 8-00 am.
HY results on track (despite piling division) Stronger H2. Looks solid enough to me.... Got to be a price rise today, surely? Can't decide which way to vote though. Back to the future anyone? Welcome your thoughts....gla Rich
Sorting themselves out. Market is strong for them. Share price is too low. BUY BUY BUY
....and down still further!
This is taking a pasting....come on board, resolve this and let's move on as a matter of urgency!
There is the other possibility that Mr Ellis being approached by Institutions to take back the chair and get the company back on track Over 1 year on the market and the shares were holding below the 100p when they came to AIM market
I hope you are right that he just wants to be in charge and wants his son in law back, in which case hey should both be shown the door assuming their forecasts are more of less realistic. The share price not moving is typical of infrastructure and real estate as well as regeneration stocks bit of a flat period for this group, Brexit and waiting to see of gov puts more money into infrastructure which i think they will, i.e. the flat share price did not worry me, the former Chair can't really change that, if the company shows growth and expansion the share price will follow in time, but he canto control the timing of the price move. Vlad
Puzzle why "PEEL" went into the offer 83p and no large or delayed sell trades appearing since Almost double the amount buys v sells or 2/5 for only 1p rise
VLA Maybe your conclusion of the Lower profits to come is a conclusion a bit too "negative" and not the real reason of the - former Chairman, wanting to take charge again. from another place An insider speaks.. "An insider told Construction News that Mr Ellis was concerned over how the companys share price had performed. Michaels not happy about it, he would have wanted them to have doubled [from the price the company floated at], the source said. If Michael does go back, he will make damn sure the shareholders get a return on their investment.
You cannot appraise this situation from tech analysis approach. After a days heavy selling there will be some buying, the share price will bounce all over the place for a while. If there is no substance to the for Chairman's claims that the current trading will result in falling well short of forecasts, then ultimately your decision to stay in will be vindicated. If his claims are correct and the Telegraph do confirm that he has presented evidence to them, then you will get tanked, it all depends on that outcome not what the spread is or how many buyers there are this morning. The truth of the situation will not be clear for some time yet. Vlad
From the very start of the day, all the trades are buys and the spread can not be more closer 84.50 v 85p.and fro the last 10 minutes paying full offer
You might be right MasRSI and certainly I like what the company does and how they do it, hence i will monitor closely. But we don't know the current trading position, the current board says fine the founder says not, either could be right, but we just don't know right now. The fact that the former Chairman and founder has shown evidence to the telegraph of shorter term under performance which do not support the full year forecasts, is a concern, we don't know the truth and neither do you. A fall of over 10% is relatively small with such uncertainty, if clear evidence emerges of Van Elle missing annual targets by some margin we could be looking at much greater falls. Vlad
sasa your comments are "bias" just like - Vla - due that you 2 sold this morning " I see the company has not been performing for while and the Founder wants the " son " to be in charge in the future so, better take charge now that the business not doing very well.
Echo that view, Vladimir - for an ex chairman / founder giving that reason for getting re-involved directly looks ominous to me, the inference being that the F/Y results are likely to be well short of what's been suggested. This cheap share might now just get cheaper while anxiety persists; remember, too, that tax loss selling might gather pace as the year draws to a close (instos don't like being involved with failures like this IPO and prefer to clear out the duds in good time) so an even lower sp seems more likely from here - fwiw, sold all mine, first thing - sasa.
