I really do not think that even if the update is superb tomorrow we will see much interest and if we are treated to a small rise it will be short lived. Oil companies are as popular as a Corbanista in the oval office. This year is proving very difficult to project and where it will end up. An election will not solve the Brexit issue. Money will not open another can of doctors and nurses. There is little skilled labour to build thousands of houses and appointing 20000 more police is pointless if the prisons and the courts are all full or failing. I am heavily into Enquest and like a lot of others am well underwater. Fortunately the purchase of a new property meant that I turned quite a lot of investments into cash. Now having sold the old one I have back. It is sitting at building society and think myself lucky to be earning 1.3%. Getting mugged in the centre of an East coast town at 15.30 changes one's view on life for ever. Thankfully there are still others who comes to ones aid..
About this time of year I usually buy next years jeans. Four pairs at a time size 36 waist and 31 leg. I more or less live in jeans. I drove 26 miles to buy them and visited a reasonably larger store. None in stock!! Seems I am not alone as the ladies say size 14 is rarely available. Shall not return...
Its quite nice to see the rise over the last few days. We still have a way to go to the RI but I am trying to feel optimistic. I am thinking I shall put the bottles of blue cider I had for the 6p party back in the cupboard and grab a bottle of Ghost Ship..
I keep harking back to the good old days. There used to be the occasional boom then. I remember one day a share went up a 100% in a day. Perhaps it is a sign of getting older but nothing seems to rise fast anymore.. I shall continue to hold it though..
This is not a huge fall at all. We are suffering a slow and painful decline caused by a world situation. It is not just Enquest which is suffering either. A lot of the worlds problems are self inflicted but I am now of the opinion that its path is beyond alteration and it will go where it will Nothing can stop it. Where it goes though is still uncertain. Tinkering around the edges may cause the a bump in the road but nothing more..
My only blue one today. I am full of hope today like the man who decided to buy another car. The salesman on the forecourt said 'Just pick one'. Its not a problem because they are all clapped out and not one of them will get you where you need to be.
There are some posters who I have a great deal of respect on this board. Others show a positive side which perhaps is a little over the top sometimes but then we a few who just post non stop negative dribble. I know why I bought shares in Enquest and my reasons are still valid. Yes the sp is not very exciting but with all the outside influences that is not surprising. We have a medieval model of government which is no longer fit for purpose manned by many who have lost sight of why they are there. We have orangeman in the Whitehouse tweeting rubbish and having to check each time he sees a story on the Tv where the place is its about who moves his army about like the Grand Old Duke of York. Hopefully he will resemble Hump De Dumpty soon. Fortunately I have turned a lot of my investments to cash so I can unless the pound completely collapses sit back and ride this out. There is a lot more to life than watching investments which are currently moribund. As soon as the mood changes and it will I shall be more than happy to re join the fray...
I confess to having no technical knowledge whatsoever and no idea where the oil industry is headed. I know that oil is no longer flavour of the month and we are all supposed to be investing in green things. As a country we have exported a lot of our carbon footprint to China so we can boast what a wonderful effort we are making. We are determined to manufacture less and less and each day it arrives at our ports on bigger and bigger containerships. I think we should put all the politicians on the Thistle platform and then blow it up. Two problems sorted at once.. Oh well off to steal a bicycle..
There was a good article in the Times yesterday. It seems we are invested in a dinosaur. Strange really because I also saw a clip on tv where the person said that they had studies the S and P 500 carefully and oil and gas investments now made up the smallest percentage. Also saw a article regarding a person fretting over what sort of gas fire to install because of global warming. Surely he won't need it... My car will need oild for sometime yet, My combi will need gas for some time yet and although the skyline is full of windmills to date O am not feeling like Don Quixote ..
Sadly I cannot yet see anything to cause this to rise. I have my blue bottle of cider for the party sitting ready but from my cardboard box I am led to believe China has been whacked by the orange mans trade war and if you believe the shower of shyte we call our government can cobble together enough energy to accept Boris's so called deal then I suggest you buy a blue bottle and open it now. I am happy to wait until next year for my investment here to bear fruit but will it be frazzle before it is ripe enough by global warming!! For those who like politics this weak end will prove interesting. Having watched the Met Documentary on BBC last night the sooner we turn our attention to the real dangers to our society the better. Law and order is choking to death while I type..
